I have a chevy 350 with the stock landcruiser radiator. I need to buy a new upper and lower radiator hoses.

Was wondering if anyone had and Part #'s or recent experience with their 350 conversion finding hoses. The hoses are not very complex (bends) but I want them to look and function best possible after I am done installing.

Thanks for any responses...

I am in the same boat. My MUD search came up with the following:

It was in wiki link gates 20416 upper and gates 20573 lower. Lower does need trimmed

Others have gone with a flex hose set up from NAPA. I will try the Gates hoses for my application. Let me know what you go with and how it works out.

I've been trying to find some as well. I have a serpentine set up so the flex hose won't work. My drivetrain was also moved forward so the water pump pulley is about 3 inches from the stock radiator. Anyone have the same setup? And if so, ideas on hoses?

walk into your local auto parts store and ask them if you can walk through their hose section, they should let you and then you pick out a couple you think will work. return the ones that dont

Been there, done that. I found one that works but really hoping someone has found one that has a much better fit. Mine's not so pretty and has the capacity for a very large air bubble. Good idea though, most of the auto parts stores are more than happy to let you look through as opposed to their having to do the search!:)

I've also loaded a rig on the trailer and taken it to the parts store and they let me walk out with half a dozen to test until I found one that worked which was nice.

When I first did my 40 (got it converted to a SBC but minus motor, i.e. parts), I measured the ends I needed, and bent a piece of welding rod (or coat hanger) to the inside dimensions of what would clear pulleys, etc. Took that to the parts store and walked through looking at hoses. It's been long enough ago that I don't remember numbers, and I've changed a few things around, but it was relatively easy to find hoses that fit good.

Good luck.

Thanks for the responses, I'm gonna try the gates Part #'s and see where that gets me. I'm sure they will work great.

Flex hose from napa is what I am running for a upper. The hose is less than a year old, was leaking- Pulled it off and the spring coil had separated from the hose part. What a POS! My lower hose is a sorry looking thing that looks like it was put on in 1985.

Thanks again:cheers:

So I just went to order the hoses and the local place had both in stock. Score!- They must be fairly common hoses.

As others have posted, the upper works perfect if you have the angled neck at the intake (as I do) and the lower just needs a little trim on the radiator side end to fit.

Nice, easy, and very reliable solution.

Thanks TCSTARK for posting the Part #'s and all others who chimed in:cheers:

flex hoses from napa worked great for mine. Just went and got something like an 18"-20", can't remember off the top of my head, put a bit of a bend in it to clear my fan, and it works out perfect. I can get measurements and part numbers if needed.

Went to NAPA today and picked up a set of hoses today. I was a bit over zealous with trimming them top hose and it barely fits. Is it ok to stretch it out a tad and clamp it down nice and tight? I will be more careful with the bottom hose.

You should not need to trim the top hose. Should fit if you ordered the right hose.

I would not trust a radiator hose you need to stretch and clamp. You must realize this is a pressurized system and you don't want to pop off. I would cut my losses and buy another hose, just don't get so cut happy. my .02

Rattlecan - your comments totally make sense and it is worth the $15 for the piece of mind. I will get another one and be a bit more careful with my trimming back.
