We're gonna try to set a regular recurring meeting very soon. Looking like it might be the third Thursday of the month at Tipsy Burro on Monroe Rd (7th Street). Please comment with opinions if you're local and would like to propose something else.

That said, we're working to have something special for February MARCH but the date is not finalized yet nor is the actual event. Stay tuned...

I already have commitments on First, second , and third Thursdays. Not that I expect anyones world to revolve around me.

Meeting at your house, 4th Thursday of the month!

I think having this as the nominal meeting date may be best unless we have another good idea. TIpsy Burro is the only place that we can agree on to meet in Charlotte it seems and they're closed Monday/Tuesday and have trivia Wednesday so if we're doing a weekend evening Thursday is it. Looking at the calendar the third thursdays of the month don't seem to correspond with anything much on the calendar that would interfere

If we have something else we want to do we can always move it around as needed though

My shop is available for a hamom any weekend. I also spoke with another local LC business owner and he will be happy to host a meeting or a Hamom. I think John’s team is working on something very nice for everyone. I am not open for Thursday evening but hope to see everyone in any other events.

With seemingly several people unable to do thursdays what about alternating thursdays and saturdays? Or another weekday but somewhere else - I'll defer to the group to come up with a location though because apparently no one wants to come to my neck of the woods in NoDA :bang::bang:

Sundays have always been more popular than Saturdays but let's see what people say. I'm fine with mixing up days. Maybe weekends when NFL isn't happening and weekdays when it is (though I know now that Thursday is an NFL night nowadays).

Dont worry about me. You dont want to see me anyways

Jacob, you'll never get a consensus on the day. Not with this group. My suggestion is to pick a day and stick to it. We will all just have to do our best to be there. Give it six months and see what the attendance looks like. If we need to tweak the day or time after six months, adjust as necessary.

I seem to always intend to get there, but rarely do. Tipsy burro is real hard to get to at that time a day for a lot of us out of county folks. It might just be me who knows, but maybe a spot off of 485. If it stats at tips, ill still make the effort to get there

Yep. And that was pretty much the reasoning behind weekend meetings for years and years (weekday traffic, not accommodating you Patrick!). We're all so spread out in the CLT area and the roads have not kept up with the population growth. I got here in 1991 and could make it from uptown CLT to Wingate down 74 (31 miles) in 40 minutes during the evening commute. It's only now inching back closer to that time because of the Monroe Bypass and the elimination of so many lights on 74 in CLT. Forget about traveling 85 or 77 to get somewhere by 630-700pm if you need to go home first.

I used to reach out to the new people to see what location/day would be good for them. Some of you folks might remember that! Might need to consider doing it again. I hate that we lose people at meetings because of traffic.

For those that might question our CLT traffic...Sarah has started taking the bus to work. The bus stop is 1.2 miles away down only 2 roads after leaving our 'hood. It's normally a 15 minute round trip for me to drop her off :bang: . The 18 mile round trip to her to work is normally 90-100 minutes AM or PM. 120 minutes is common.

Not surprised at all at those commute times. CLT traffic sucks.

If Dave would just make his house the charlotte area clubhouse it wouldn't be an issue.

We can definitely meet at my place for a HAMOM or just to hang out and drink beer in the driveway any time. Maybe when the weather warms up a bit, I will post up a get-together.

In the meantime, if anybody has some easy-ish cruiser-related projects that they want to make happen, hit me up and we will use that as an excuse to get together. By easy-ish, I mean able to complete in an afternoon of wrenching.
