I had some luck wedging a fireproof glove up there to stop the rattle but it was just a test and didn't look very good. I've not had a garage for the past couple of years and haven't been playing under the truck much. I'll revisit it at some point.
Yeah, I had replaced all my hangers in preparation for the sliders, along with the transmission and engine mounts. I was surprised to see how quickly 1 of the mounts broke again...the vibration was present with all the Mounts and hangers intact.I found that all three of my exhaust bushings were not only torn, but basically non existent![]()
Did you try adding any spacers on top and bottom of those new exhaust hangers? Looks like you can get an extra 1/4” up based on the threads exposed.Yeah, I had replaced all my hangers in preparation for the sliders, along with the transmission and engine mounts. Not yet, I need new hangers again...it's been a couple of years. I'll space it when I replace them. Not having a garage or level driveway suuuuuucks...Did you try adding any spacers on top and bottom of those new exhaust hangers? Looks like you can get an extra 1/4” up based on the threads exposed.
Need to give this a try...the lip is definitely the primary issue, thanks for the feedback. Slowly losing my mind (and avoiding removal due to the painful install process). Will try to bend the lip back a bit...on this week's to-do list.I had the same issue with mine. I was able to bend that lip back with the slider on and a chisel with hammer to bend the lip back. No leaks and rattle gone.
SAME exact symptoms here...it's about the only rattle on the whole truck (which I'm quite proud of after a mostly full built 80). Shift into neutral or park, RPM and vibes change just enough to stop entirely...stopped and in drive, nails on a chalkboard.Subscribed. My WKOR sliders rub when stopped and in Drive. In Neutral or Park there is no rattle. It could also be a result of dragging the exhaust (bit that goes under the frame downstream of the cats) all over North Georgia.
I gave up and went with the 105 down pipe. Never looked backNeed to give this a try...the lip is definitely the primary issue, thanks for the feedback. Slowly losing my mind (and avoiding removal due to the painful install process). Will try to bend the lip back a bit...on this week's to-do list.

Comforting to know I'm not alone in this quest...final efforts will be to pull the slider, clearance it a bit along with bending the lip on the cat shield. Will also check the exhaust bushing kit, haven't messed with it yet and plan to give it a looksee. Thanks Mud.![]()
