Adding spacers only lowers the cats even more.

The mount behind the cats is frame mounted with the cushion on top and the exhaust mount above that. Adding spacers moves it up, at least in a ‘97, because it worked for me.

Can you add spacer washers to the plate with the 4 bolts , just on the top to tilt it down enough?

Actually tried that, it's worse because the angle brings the armor plate closet to the cat.

what's the condition of your motor mounts? maybe they are collapsed and lowering things.

Motor/trans mounts were replaced with OEM rubber prior to the sliders.

I cut off the corners of the cat heat shield to make it easier to bolt up. No harm to the cat and really didn't lose any appreciable heat shielding.

Crap, I need to learn how to read. I had this same issue with the Metal-Tech sliders and the bushing resolved the issue.

I'm not sure on '96-'97 cats, but on my '94 I cut the shields off the cats to clear my skidplate. They're not needed anymore with a skidplate, IMHO. I also have different sliders. Also remember having to grind some off slider. Just a thought, while you have slider off it'd be easier to take care of both.

The exhaust is thin wall, so weak, relatively easy to bend to fit. A set of sliders we recently installed went on a rig that had been wheeled, so mangled exhaust, needed some long pry bar adjustment.
