The organizer of a cars and coffee I attend sometimes shows up in this old Toyota. Today he mentioned selling it in his Facebook feed......

NEED MORE PITCHERS!!!

I wanna see the interior! The engine! The vintage CB radio!

Cool! It comes with AC! (the fan laying in the bed)

OMG... I wonder how many people over the years looked at that sticker and thought "what the heck does RN27 mean?" ;)

That truck is a set of wheels away from being a museum piece! What are your plans?

Unrelated (okay, not really unrelated) was anyone doing 4wd conversions back when these were new(ish)? I mean... we're all thinking it... 2" lift, 31" ATs ;-)

There are aftermarket conversions of these and 620 datsuns. First stick i drove was a 4wd 620. Almost ended up with it for first car. :(

There was a thread on Pirate, i think, where someone stumbled across a few kits.

Sweet truck! Patina-mobile, for sure.

My girlfriend's father worked for the school district in Michigan, and someone donated a Olive '78 2x just like that one to the school system, and he high-graded it and drove it for a while. It was seriously rusty at 50K miles and I drove it about 100 miles on a trip with her. I was impressed with the truck's feel. In the early 1980s, Toyotas were forbidden fruit in Michigan - you didn't own them, drive them, or talk about them!

The best part: someone painted a small Confederate flag on the roof, and wrote 'Gerral (sic) Lee' next to it with white-out. Very classy! This was when the Dukes of Hazzard was big on TV.
