I think I need a carb for a Stihl 026. I called a local dealer who said they didnt make a rebuild kit anymore and she priced out a new carb at $90. Before I go this route, I'd to know if there is a better carb out there. If not, is the $90 price reasonable? or is this an inflated dealer price

Oh, and no chinese crap, I am not interested in junk

I'd try to fix it b4 I spent $90. You probably can't screw it up anymore than it is now. I had problems w/my 029 carb a while back, I researched what was the proper way to rebuild it. I then inquired about a rebuild kit @ a stihl shop & they looked @ me like I was nuts. I installed new fuel lines & filter, took the carb apart & cleaned it out. All is good now.

Jason, I'll send you an email.

Glad I have a different dealer; your dealer sees $$$ Had a kit put in my Stihl 26 a week ago at local dealer-- had several on shelf, so I would say kits are available. Tuned up and it runs better than ever. Hint; discard the thin sponge piece in air cleaner; seems later models didnt use this. Total cost was $20
