I repaired this original speaker by replacing the cone.

I have service manuals for all of the radios used in the 70s and 80s Toyota cars and trucks. I stock the common repair parts.

If you have any other old electronics needing repaired, lets talk.

I would like to send you an OEM radio from a ‘78 40. Do you still work on them?

I see a few radios for sale on fleebay now advertised to be for the FJ40. They are not. All FJ40 radios had the control pegs low and inside like this. And they were all AM only. If the pegs are centered vertically then it is not an FJ40 radio.

yes, I can make you up a pigtail. I have your radio, I am finishing up another one the next couple days and will start on yours.

Working on this recently. It was really nasty inside. The tuner was completely seized up, the tone control was corroded in place. I was able to get everything back functioning, after giving it a bath. Replaced the big caps and pilot light.
