Can’t figure out starter issues/where to find a part

Hey everyone,

Long story short, starter went out, started making a grinding/revving noise. I didn’t really know how starters work, so when rebuilding I didn’t notice that a piece had fallen off (the end piece with the teeth that connects to the flywheel). Anyways, when I put the starter back in I got the same noise. Took it out again, checked the FSM and realized that piece was missing. I found it sitting in the transmission and put it back on the starter and then bolted the starter back on. It turned over for a second then kinda sputtered out. I then realized that the spring beneath that piece had probably fallen off, and I’m not sure where it went. Does anyone have a good idea of where I can get one of those? I couldn’t find it listed as a part. I’ll attach a photo below in case I wasn’t clear. The red circle is where the spring goes and the white circle is the piece that had fallen off.

I have a small pile of these starters(assuming it’s for an 80). I had this idea that I would rebuild them and use them or sell them. I have more ideas than I do time and more cruiser parts than I do ideas, and they’ll realistically just sit there forever. You can have one if you want to use the parts or retry rebuilding.
