Can I use the drive shaft screw to snug down harmonic balancer in 22re?

EDIT: Can I use crankshaft bolt to snug down the harmonic balancer?

Hi, and thanks in advance.

I've been trying to get this harmonic balancer in my '92 22re, and am about 1/8 (or less) an inch from being on the crankshaft completely. I can thread the 19mm drive shaft bolt, and want to make sure this isn't going to mess with the drive shaft.

I've been using a rubber mallet lightly on balancer and am concerned about using a BFH on the balancer pulleys. Should I just use the hammer?

Stop pounding on the pulley. You will mess it up. Use the bolt to press the pulley the rest of the way.
