Would it be impossible to weld these cracks?
Should I be concerned with this cracking? Also is there supposed to be a C-Clip or something? I was driving this before I pulled the motor.
I can't even imaging what will happens if this gear come off at 60mph.... You will continue thinking about this weld during your driving.. not enjoying driving anymore

Bummer. I just put the oil pan and side covers on with new gaskets. I might have to find an engine builder who can help me. This is above my pay grade.
@cjonezy .

There's alot more to this that only experience or a LOT of research is required to have a successful outcome. Or, pure luck.

1. Somebody "worked" on that cam before, and given the result, wasn't following the factory service manual.

2. Inspection of the cam, lifters, and timing gears, and the cam thrust plate for wear and tear.

3. In my opinion, the cam bearings should be replaced with a new cam.

4. The lifters need to be resurfaced. Pushrods?

5. There's a gasket between the engine block and the front plate that is known to leak. It can only be replaced with the cam gear removed.

6. There's a special plug at the rear of the block (OEM ONLY) that is known to leak, and likely needs to be removed to replace the cam bearings.

Other seals, gaskets, bolts that need sealer, etc I haven't listed.

Good luck!

I'm going to order all the parts and get it done. Looks like I'll be doing lots of research.

@cjonezy

Just beware, there are a number of nuances regarding F engines that even experienced "engine rebuilders" may not be aware of. Make certain you have a copy of the FSM and go over the details with a fine toothed comb before you start. There's a thread on here entitled "how not to build the 2F". F and 2F engines are similar in many (but not all) respects.

You should read the entire thread, but pay particular attention to at least posts 9 and 10.

I checked with Delta Cam and they don't have a solution for me. Any other MUD options?

The picture in the Amazon link that you posted above shows the Melling MC803 drilled in both middle journals. I'm pretty sure that's to accommodate both F & 2F.
EDIT: Delta should be able to resurface your lifters.

Any idea where I can source the camshaft retainer and C-Clip?
Also, was the retainer originally flat? If so, maybe I can machine one.
