I found a 426D under an old moving truck box in Stanley, NM 10 years ago. I cleaned it up, re finished it, and it's been great! Made in 1965 I think. Best stove ever for the big family camp outs!

That's some big ole mountains in the above post! Still my favourite thread. Love seeing everyone out and about.

Weather has warmed up here so we had a night out . Dropped the kids with the in-laws and went into the forests. It had been raining quite a bit so chewed some mud but the Road Grippers really dig in and pulled us through, the missus was chewing off my ear thinking we were going to be stuck out there.

But it all worked out, and great to lock hubs again. Found this old woodcutter's hut, buried in the forest, like out of a fairytale. Pitched up just as night fell and the rain stopped. Campfire, peace and morning birdsong. Happy camping!

I have a 413 of the same vintage that I take camping all the time but yours is nicer. Perfect size and huge tank. Does yours have the chrome legs? Mine are missing but I could always borrow them from my 426 if I wanted.

Eric
I bought my 413 at a yard sale for 10.00 maybe 15 years ago. It has some rust on it so I spray bombed it flat black!! For years I used it to melt lead and pour lead molds..fishing weights, duck decoy weights, and bucktails. I recently tore it down and repainted/refurbished. It DOES have the chrome legs but some of the chrome has started to de-laminate. I used this website to get some ideas to on how to refurbish.

How to Rebuild a Coleman® Two or Three Burner Stove: Lesson One, Disassembly: Old Town Coleman

I put some recently acquired auto body work skills to good use on the housing. ;) It's worth it to clean the pipe orifice coming off the tank ...the one that fits into the burners, with lacquer thinner or carb cleaner. Really made a big difference in the flame. I think you could probably fab some legs for it from some sheet metal. Just cut into strips and bend (in a vice) to fit. Just make sure it's thick enough that it will hold the bend.

Curious on the front winch setup. Is that 8274? Please show us close ups. looks great!

Thanks. Yes 8274 on a modified factory setup. Built the mount using HJ61 frame horn extensions, custom plate and a bunch of added braces to stiffen the setup. Later added the trimmed stock bumper pieces on each side of the winch mount but used to run without.

Not great photo but fits the theme of the thread. Will see if I have better.

Amazing! That winch fits that truck so good! I tried to get one behind the factory bumper. It just stuck out like crazy! this is really neat. I may visit this in the future.

Thank you

Went out to Big Bend Campground in the Monongehela National Forest in West Virginia. This place was fantastic; highly recommend if you are within driving range. Great fishing, tubing, and kayaking on the South Branch of the Potomac River.

The boy hooked a real nice golden trout - definite keeper - but made the mistake of hoisting it out of the water on the line. 2lb test wasn't meant for that, so we ate spaghetti.

Two weeks of school holidays have just started here so we're heading off camping for a few days.

Last night was a test to see if all six of us can still fit in the tent. This is a place where they shoot wild boars - hence the stand. They're eating all the small trees apparently. We learned this when the forester came out before dark with his dog after reports of gun shots. No boars sighted but the wife was expecting one to leap out later on while we were sat round the fire. A barrage of bird song erupted at 5.30 am but apart from that a real peaceful corner.
