Call for monthly trail run ‘leaders/organizers.’

Just came back from the first CSC monthly run. We went to Box Canyon. It was my first time as a trail ‘leader/organizer.’ I put this in quotes because I had so much help making sure everything when right I can’t really claim much credit. I’ll post a trail run report later, but first I want to nail down the monthly run idea.

On the trail we discussed how we should organize the monthly run. The discussion boiled down to having an official run on the fourth Saturday of every month versus having a different trial leader/organizer every month who picks the date and place.

I think most people who have not been ‘placed/forced’ in charge will find this intimidating, which is why I was selected as ‘leader/organizer’ of the first official monthly run. I can get lost anywhere…..and I proved it today when I missed the turn off to Florence Junction! But everyone was cool and got me back on track. After that it was smooth sailing…more or less.

If I can do it, then literally anyone can do it.

So, instead of me organizing a run on the forth Saturday of every month we decided to put out a call for volunteers for the coming months. First post for a month gets it. If no one posts, then I will organize a run for the forth Saturday of the month.

So, who is volunteering for February? If I don’t have a volunteer by next Friday, February the 3rd 2011, I’ll organize the official monthly run.

It was fun and everyone kept it very friendly.

My guess is Pete has about a hour of video that needs editing along with others.
 
...if we had a thread.... I could post some video... but we do not have a thread...

Do we have a way of accessing the "other site" from within here or do we just bookmark it to get to it :meh:
 
If you or anyone want to add it directly to the CSC website just shoot me a pm with your e-mail to setup your account and you can add it or link it any way thats easier. Jackson also has full admin rights on the site. The site editor has lots of different options for videos and picture gallerries or you can just post it on the CSC thread here on IH8MUD and we can import it for you.
 
I’m fine, just busy. I can’t get anything done without thirty days notice. Will add my video and trail summary to the existing thread in that time zone.

Also, how is it determined who will be responsible for next months run (no not me right now :flipoff2:)

Does the previous (this) month's run organizer - in this case Cook - open up his run thread to ask for being next months run organizer volunteer and pass it along to the next CSC'r?

I vote for Cook.

Cook is doing a great job, I say he keeps it until he gets sick of it and finds/trains a suitable replacement.

Seems to be catching :hhmm:

At the eight year mark we will check in with him :rolleyes:
