Deeply Confused
So- I'm building the roll-cage for the 45. I like the design of the MetalTech profile cage where it stays really close to the dash to keep from knocking your knees on it. If the A-pillar of the cage comes down just behind the dash pillar [I don't know if these are proper terms] under the floorboard, it gets really close to the body mount.
I've always thought the front body mount was too low and was a real rock catcher. It seems like everyone I see is beat to hell from getting hung up on rocks.
What I'm thinking of doing is removing the stock front body mount from the frame, and building a body mount/cage to frame tie-in thing that also has an outrigger looking thing for a slider.
I wish I was better with SolidWorks so you guys could see what is rattling around in my brain.
Surely someone has done this before. Can someone post pictures of what their cage to frame tie in looks like near the front body mount? Maybe I'm trying to re-invent the wheel.
