What is the consensus on where the bulk of your cabin noise originates (engine / firewall, transmission, wind, exhaust note, etc.)? ** These 2 readings are at 100kph

Firewall/engine for me. Unless my wife comes 4WDing, then it’s the passenger seat.
I didn’t think to add that one to the list of possible sources. 😁

I redid my floors with Second Skin Audio Damplifier Pro and then rolled some Spectrum Sludge on top. I only did it where the original factory sound deadener was located. I also did the doors but, again, not 100%. I noticed considerable noise reduction with those two areas alone. I later installed a new headliner and used the same product under the headliner. I noticed some sound reduction with that installation but not nearly as much as the previous areas. I haven't messed with the firewall - of course mine isn't a loud, smelly diesel.

I go with the mud tires also.

If you want drivetrain noise, get a 55.

With all of the variables, it might be cheaper in the long run to simply wear a noise-cancelling headset.
😁

We need someone to test one of those fancy Land Cruisers (aka 200 or 250 Series) to get an accurate picture of how noisy our 70 Series really are. 😊

I didn’t run a dB meter but here was last night, 55mph, dirt road with a soft top during a thunderstorm….The click sound is the keys chain tapping if that gives you any idea of cabin noise.

I can't hear any thunderstorm... :p
BTW, Is the meter backlight original or did you do some upgrade to it? It seems to be bright compared to mine, but maybe I should check it when it's really dark. :)

It was a crazy light show. Not much thunder but crazy lightning.

Original lights in the meter. It really only looks like that when dark. Hard to see otherwise.
