Im currently game planning a passat cluster in my 4runner.

I plan on using lexand for the glass and black abs sheets like you'd use for a custom dash to cover any gaps the inner cluster might leave in the 4runner dash.

I'll use a something like a Dakota mechanical to electric converter for the Speedo, I'll replace the fuel gauge lever to a compatible ohms for the gauge in the dash.

For the tach that will work with my donor engine so i have no issues there as my motor matches my ecu and cluster.

Hope this helps.

Doesn't look factory but I made it fit. Now I need to get mounted the cluster rigidly to the truck side of the dash and ths glass/abs mounted to the outer cover.

I reached out to a company that does corvett cluster work. They suggested to me "You'll need standard GM sensors, or some adapter that converts them between the two."

Does that make sence to anyone? They also provided me the wiring diagram for the C4. So that was nice

i was scared at first but that actually fits in there well... impressive. yes, the gauges will need sensors that match the impedance of the gauges. the toyota ones might work? just something you'll have to play with

Im using a vw diesel passat as a donor for wiring harness/pedal/engine/ecu/ accelerator pedal. The only sensors ill have to adapt for my cluster to work will be fuel lever and speedometer.

You'll need to use all the GM engine water and oil temp/oil pressure sensors but that won't be hard to source. You'll need the fuel level sending unit in the tank to match the c4s ohms or at least close.

If you can snag the cluster wiring harness from the c4 so you can make your own harness. You'll be ok so long as you can access and read a wiring schematic.

Toyota has a digital gauge in i believe the 1st gens turbo 4runners that can be adapted but it's not a bolt in affair. The harness plugs in but fuel lever sending unit needs replaced and some wiring needs repinned in some spots.
