2005 LX470 Florida Fly and Drive

I am probably going to regret this but I am thinking about getting something different and selling my 2005 LX470

I am the original owner, has lived it's entire life in South Florida but not on the beach and garaged when not being used. Clean and clear title in hand.

It is a 2005 with 83,000 miles, Blizzard White with Tan hides. No rear video, no night vision but everything else. Mostly serviced by local Lexus dealer including all major services, brakes, front wheel bearings packed, CV boots replaced, new rear muffler, seals around rear hatch and third brake light replaced, AHV fluid flushed when serviced. Everything works, no issues, the Michelin tires may have 10,000 miles left on them but they still ride great.

It is in very good condition, has a few rock chips and a small scuff on the front bumper corner but no shopping cart dings or accidents, zero paint work and no mods whatsoever, never ever, well, except the front side windows which are tinted to match the rear....

This would be a dealer passthrough so there may be a dealer fee but they would handle the Title work so no worries for you there, you will need to pick it up from dealer in Florida.

$27,000 OBRO

P.M. me for photos

I reserve the right to change my mind or trade, if you are really interested let me know a.s.a.p.:meh:

I've also got a line on a '98 with all the bells and whistles for 7.5K... but then again it's got 350 k on the truck... single owner, well maintained etc... Is 350 k too many miles?

That's a lot of miles. It's amazing to see how many high mile 100 series are out there. For someone living in an area where you simply can't drive many miles, such as my situation, it could be worth considering. However, if you're planning to use it as off road vehicle I'd think an 80 series would be a better choice. In any case, give it a drive and see what you think. It's interesting that the market value is coming down on these excellent vehicles to where they're almost affordable for the average person. On the other hand, ballpark 10-15+K for a used gas guzzler greatly limits their appeal.

Buy it for $26k and its a good deal!

Thanks for the reply.

Apparently, the timing belt was done OR so a sticker on the engine cover says. However, there is no record of the 90k service in Lexus records or CarFax. It has me wondering if the used car dealer swapped in a different engine cover OR just added a sticker.

Any thoughts?

Does the date/mileage that the sticker note seem plausible?

Mine is that way, no records at the dealer, but has TB change sticker. The oil change intervals listed for my truck at toyota.com/owners have gaps of 10k mi here or there, coupled with a sticker and no TB records, makes me think the PO took it to another shop from time to time (that also didn't report to anything like Carfax).

A little more info: rebuilt front end (not sure what he means by that) and a recent engine overhaul. Still there's a lot of parts on that driveline that have probably driven further than I have. :steer:

I just bought a 1998 with 75,500 miles for $17k. Super clean interior and the exterior is perfect. I might have spent a bit more than I should have but it's what I was looking for, color (charcoal grey) , fully loaded (wood dash, leather, etc) and it is super clean. San Diego, CA.

Who cares, man, as long as you're happy with it. I just bought a bike that 99.9% of people wouldn't pay 1/4 of what I paid for it. But it's what I wanted and I'm happy. Good luck with the cruiser.

Sounds like a nicE one. They areN't making 100's anymore and good ones are hard to find. Congrats and enjoy!

Why are 100's worth so much more than an 80.

So I am looking into bringing in a 98 HDJ101 from Japan (I have had two JDM 80's). A diesel 98 in decent shape with 125 to 150k is running around 2.5 mill yen ($30000 us) where a 97 HDJ81 diesel same miles same condition is 1.5 mill yen (18000 us).

Why such a big difference? I don't get it. 3 to 5k I could see, but not 12!!!

Thanks
James

Most nice 80's I have seen sell for around $10k. I paid $15k for my 01' that was in near mint condition.
Bigger motor, better technology, more comfortable, roomier and more features.

Wow, that's a huge difference. Man - 30k for a RHD cruiser, plus all the costs to transport here, and license/register/baselining etc... You'd be into it for over $35k when all said/done.

Not worth the premium. Why not just get a LHD LX470 or cruiser? Certainly the mileage doesn't even come close to making up for that - you could practically drop a diesel into a blown 100 series and have a local LHD cruiser for that money.

I own both an 80 and 100. The 100 is a much more engineered truck, bigger engine (in petrol at least) and newer in life. As such, I would expect a significant difference in cost. Overlay the diesel factor and its just a lot mo' moniez.

In Central America (and no doubt the rest of the world) diesels bring 20 to 40% more on the same/similar chassis.
