100 series carfax help

I am looking at a 2001 with 115K miles+/- from individual owner (out of state). He says all services (timing belt, water pump.. ) have been performed but he hit a deer last year, with only the bumper being replaced.

1. If anyone to access to carfax could check out VIN#Jteht05J512012254 that would be appreciated
2. I have not test driven the cruiser, but besides the obvious, is there any else I should look out for? (regarding the deer hit)
3. I have checked out SLEE's site for the newbie guide, but any other advice would be appreciated.
4. Price is $11K

Thanks-

If you know what dealer he used you could check the service history with them.

I'm thinking about selling my 2003 with 135k miles and some light mods (and 90k and 120k service done) as I've moved to Manhattan and I'm not sure I need a 4x4 in the city. I'll probably put it on CL, but thought I'd shoot a flare onto Mud and see if anybody wants to talk. Truck's currently in Eugene, Oregon.

joel, I have a buddy looking. pm me with some pics and your thoughts on price...

i paid $16k for a 2001 with 120k miles last year. mine is/was clean with all records and receipts. so the price is probably pretty good for that one, pending any deer damage.

are you seriously asking for donations? How about you get a fxxxing job and save your money rather than begging for money from others....

I looked at a 2000 cruiser w/ 215k on the clock. It's a 2 owner az/ca rig. I personally know the family selling the rig and want to be fair for all parties, they have fallen on hard times and need to move this vehicle. They helped me out when I first moved out to CA. This guy used nothing but te best as far as fluids and replacement parts. The truck ran smooth and had stiff/ responsive brakes. The steering was tight and the paint is in good shape. I have 2 questions.. Should there be reason for concern regarding the small tick I heard when first starting the truck but went away in minutes? He wants 10k for it but I don't want to beat up a friend, what is this truck worth?

It's the exhaust manifolds. Nothing serious. You can leave them an have the tick or replace with DT headers for better flow and a small bump in power ( are they still available ?)

From a dealer. Both prices I mentioned are retail prices (which a dealer will charge). The trade-in and private party values are still lower.

Do not pay KBB dealer "retail" for a vehicle. Even the KBB website says it is a "starting asking price". I just bought a 2004 the dealer was asking over $25K for the first time I saw it on the lot. I bought it 3 weeks later from them for slightly over $18K, about $400 over the trade-in value. With gas prices doing what they are, Cruisers are not flying off the lot.

What Up 100 H8ERs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First time posting on 100 series. I currently own a solid 91. I have been thinking of purchasing a 97 LC, but the V8 100 series is looking pretty good with the cost being within a few Gs of each other. There is a 98 LC with 100k miles on Autotrader going for $12500 near my Hood. The price has dropped from the original asking price of $14k. AAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! 97? or 98? The 98 is a second owner car and has been serviced well. There are so many ??????guestions???????? The interior is not too clean. What do you guys think? I only plan on light off-roading.

Buy the newest and best shape FZJ80 you can find. I owned a 1995 FZJ80, and I've owned a 99 100 series and 2 LX470's. I love the 100's but the FZJ's are just so much better lookin and cool.

SWUtah. Thanks for the suggestion. FZJ80 is cool looking, but after seeing some of the 100s in this forum some of these 100s look BAD ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But getting into a clean, (I'm a clean freak!) 100 has its price. I'll keep looking. With the price of gas going to historic highs the SELL-A-THON of 80s and 100s is just beginning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
