Nice truck! What size tires are those??

295 75s. And incidentally, a same size spare fit up underneath with no issues.

It's stock until Monday when the folks at Slee will fit a 2.5" OME kit !! The 295s rubbed a bit when decently flexed over the past few days. No problem on road but off road they're too big. There's a post in the FAQ that states 295s will fit but that person is a big fat liar ! :)

I've got fresh 285/75's and I can't imagine a bigger tire wouldn't be problematic when flexed even a little. Your lift on Monday should alleviate those problems. ;)

I keep seeing great pictures from Telluride and surrounding areas. I'll have to get out there and see what all the fuss is about. :)

A quick side note on the courtesy light timer. Tis true there's a timer. But if your key is in the ignition (someone correct me if I'm mistaken) the timer doesn't apply and lights will stay on and kill your battery. I know this from experience. :-( just happened to me

Have to admit that I've been pretty worried about killing the battery on this trip. I've been to some fairly remote places all by myself and that certainly wouldn't be the best situation. Thought more than once about a second battery, but the stuff we do out East is pretty different and not sure I can actually justify the need until I get a fridge.

Speaking of which, I spent about $20 in ice and possibly a few hundred dollars in frustration of listening to melted ice and water slosh around in the back on this trip, so I probably would've been better off just buying ARB fridge at the beginning!

If Mrs. fireball is reading, please take note to the discretion and restraint shown by not purchasing said items above.

Some photos from yesterday: left Telluride and went into Ophir then over Ophir pass, then up into Ouray.

Then headed north and got on Owl Creek Pass. This is allegedly the scene from true grit:

And last one from silver jack lake;

For what it's worth my battery was four years old and cranked strong until I left the doors open for several hours while cleaning the interior. The radio was also playing. Couldn't believe that would kill the battery. But an older battery will let you down without warning.

My dual battery/fridge was the first mod I did to my truck and one of the most useful ones. Once you have a fridge, you can cook like a king in very remote places for a while without having to worry about driving 50 miles for ice. Add a solar panel to the mix and now you don't have to worry about charging stuff up.

PA

Nice truck,

Where in PA?

Finally fired up the computer and see that the tapatalk app is doing no favors to the photo quality, so combined with my poor photography skills things look a lot less impressive here on the interwebs!!!

Sitting at Slee now having them install the 2.5" heavy kit.

Fun is over! After getting the lift installed and meeting Mike (BIOR) this afternoon, it'll be a quick blast heading home. Or not so quick....24-26hrs of actual drive time.

2000LC- home is York, PA. I head up your way fairly often in the summer to the velodrome. And if all goes well over the next 2 days, I'll be passing your way on Thursday morning heading up to VT for the Overland Rally/Workshop.

Orefield huh.. I am about half hour away. I am selling my 80 in about a month and will have a 100 probably by January at the latest.

Here are a few photos from yesterday, I met up with another member and did a little tour of grand Mesa national Forest:

1500 miles worth of desert sand, dirt, snow, slush, mud and muck!! It took $20 at the car wash and about 45 minutes laying on my back to clean all the stuff off to get ready for the boys at Slee today.

^^ Is that Ace's FJ? If so, I'm sure you got the deluxe tour. Offer is open for Wednesday if you want to stay and see some local stuff.

Yes, Ace was the tour guide. Lots of fun!

Just left Mike at BIOR. Awesome guy and an awesome product!

I'm in Philadelphia. Wouldn't mind meeting up with some of you guys for some dirt road driving...

Nice looking rig! Appreciate the shots along the way. We are planning to head to FJ Summit next summer. Thanks for the sneak preview.
