You guys get this is a build thread, right?

....

But for all the guys who can't contain themselves

Quite contained here...

It appeared (and your comment implied) you were leaving it separated.

Headlights and AFS functional, a pretty solid amount of pin reconfigurations to get it all functioning. I need to get the short harness for the high beam and turn signals.

I'm using '15 headlamps, the few bits of facelift information I found was very, VERY wrong. AFS pin swaps were mostly correct, but none addressed the high beam, ground pin change, powering the led on dim and high, and parking lamp power.

Anyway, I knew it wouldn't be as easy as I had hoped.

Could just be the photo or the way the wheels are turned but your front tires look like they have some serious positive camber in that photo.

Really diggin' your build.

I keep thinking the same thing, but I think it's an illusion. I'm going to check it this weekend.

Thanks

Absolutely, any requests of what you want to see and I'll snap some.

More day time pics please, Jason. LOVING the build :)

It looks like you removed the side steps and used the standard LC 200 door moulding? Looks great and gives more clearance in a vital area. I'm thinking of doing this.

Are the LX side steps secured as on the LC? Any complications/things to look out for? Appreciate any input.

That exhaust vid would be excellent. Not too many custom 5.7 LC/LX exhausts showing acceleration on YT. Most of the LC exhaust vids are diesels.

(Did find this one of a Borla setup on a 5.7 Tundra. (Mind the sneaky edit of cruising audio at :54)

Sidesteps were replaced with LC rocker covers. LX sidesteps are 5 or 6 brackets that bolt
To the inboard side of inner rocker, plus a handful of Torx screws on each end. The downside is it makes AHC components visible. AHC is protected by contoured steel bars, for basic protection, and they did support the LXs weight in the shop briefly. I think I'll cover the AHC with a short and thin rocker cover from an accord, trimmed and contoured to fit.

I do need to get a video of the exhaust, but I'm trying to source a better mic than my iPhone. My setup was pretty plain, secondary cats were eliminated, new pipe from primary cats going back. H-pipe right behind the center diff, two pipes going into two 40 Flowmaster mufflers mounted on a 45° angle and well above the lowest point in that area. Two pipes exit and hoop over the axle and exit in the same location as the factory pipe, but tucked slightly higher.

Sound? Pretty damn good and lots of balls. No loss of power and no perceived gain, but throttle response does seem noticeably quicker.

Wheels straight.

One shot of front.

One shot of side.

One shot of real

and tell us what more parts are coming :D Its fun spending your money :D

Up next is putting the rear bumper cover on, rhino line the lower face of the front and rear ARB bull bars, clear tail lights used on the supercharged LX, replace the anemic Levinson sub that broke in the collision with something more punchy and juvenile, finish installing the interior, replace the LX springs with LC springs, evaluate ride height and decide how much lift to go with, Magnuson TVS, led undercarriage lighting,... I think I'm forgetting stuff

Like how far does the bumper extend rearward from the vehicle? If that is what you are asking, it is shorter than the factory cover. The rear plate of the bumper sits slightly inboard of the receiver hitch.

It's all fun and games until you add up all the receipts. I couldn't imagine the cost with labor. Even subtracting the collision repair its exorbitant.

Nothing much to report, took last night off from the LX. Tonight I wired the post facelift mirrors from the 22 pin to the old 18 pin connectors.

This is for the left side, all colors matched and pin location was coordinated. The only difference is the orange and the blue/yellow trace wires on the left of the left connector pictured. O is turn+ and BY is turn-

The connector for the right side has the same color coordination, pin location is the same but split in the center with two blank pins and the two for turn.

Verified operation and used secondary 4 pin connectors for the additional wires from the new harness.

It's nice to have functioning mirrors and cameras again.

After verifying operation I routed the new wires along the existing harness into the cab.

Finally, I put both front door panels on and called it a day.

I almost forgot, Tuesday night I replaced the Levinson sub with a 12" JL ported sub powered by a standalone amplifier mounted in the now cavernous right rear quarter panel.

This is what the LX has always needed. It even outplays the Meridian in the Supercharged RRs.

The amp is using the factory sub wiring as line level inputs, works fine and sounds great. I will bypass the Levinson amp this weekend, right now gain has to be set very low on the standalone amp. But it works and sounds great. I see no need to pull a full range signal from the rear door speakers to feed a sub. The Levinson system has good crossover settings to each channel IMO.
