beautiful work, I warned Nolen about a dream I had awhile back (he was ejected in a roll) even if he is a asshat I'de hate to see him under that truck

Thanks Garth, I did all the teardown yesterday. I am hoping I can get the tranny droid to stick it all back into the new case on Mon/Tues so I can work on it at night this week and have some time in it on Saturday.
What a waste of time and money this has been..

unfortunately, new "prototype" stuff has issues....been there, done that...I still recall taking a $3k motor to the junkyard after one mud drag...not real happy...

16th...C and the girls have a NASCAR race, I have an open weekend....lots of ideas right now....

Shaft, 4L60E case, starter, flywheel cover.
About $1000 in parts, unknown in labor to shap internals on the case, but I am doing the rest of the work myself.
Going to try to get it all back together this week.

Sorry to hear about your mess....
Did your front driveshaft fail where you had ground on it to clear the skidpalte? I am using a similar shaft up front, and if something else was the casue I do not want to replicate your mess...

I know you would. Never seen anyone more willing to help than you are, that's for sure.
It came apart in the middle. Definitly because I got it hot when I ground it. It had a little wobble and it finally had enough.
If I had just machined it in the first place instead of grinding it, it probably would be fine.
I just wish I had some warning before it blew up. I had 5 seconds of vibration and then BOOM!
No sweat, I am building the next one with 12" slip, 1.5" stress proof rod, Toy upper joint and 1310 lower.
Giddy up!
Putting it all together on Wed night and wheeling on Saturday if it kills me!

Load up the front brake and gas it and it will raise up about 3 inches on flat ground.
Cornering on the road...it is more stable than it was with leaf springs on all 4 corners.
All in all I am tickled pink!

Good to hear, I had expected no less.
Now I must admit I am a on line four wheeler as Space Ghost calls them and have watch numerious videos of rock crawling. But after watching a couple of coil over buggies not struggle on the same stuff the leafs sprung units did.......... I was sold.
My hobby is extreme mountain biking and I like to throw myself and my bike off large and very high objects, approaching 40 in a couple of months has made me look at a safer sport. Four wheeling looks like fun and I am sure you get a simular rush to what I already partake in.
Cannot wait to hear this years updates on trail performance in different terrain.

Nolen posted elsewhere that his center frame rail is 23" from the ground...not bad at all for all that tire!
I got a more accurate measurement on mine last night....22.5" behind the front shackle, 23" at the old rear crosstube.
Nolen, can't wait to wheel with ya this year and see it in action!
