Hey... you mean the crunched one on the Metal Tech site. 8)

Nolen-

Did you save the weight you wanted too? Just curious. Looks really sweet! Will you leave the rear monkey bar style or are you going to slap some sheet metal on it?

Plastic sheets are going to dress up the bed...no monkeybars unless the trail is so bad I will destroy the panels.

The weight came in about 4-500# less than it was in December, that I am very happy about.

Total weight is 3709#

My guess is that's current weight? I'd look forward to a "trail ready finished" weight....I figgered mine with tools, spare, parts, etc. and was 4100#.

Lookin GREAT tho!! Can't wait to wheel with ya this year (BTW: working up a "SouthernTour" in October while the gals do a NASCAR race....will keep ya posted...)

Those pics just gave my truck an insecurity complex!!! Strong work!!

Really that is about it. Just missing the coils themselves. I threw in the driveshaft, the coilover shocks, tool bag..oh yeah, missing gas.

Anyway, it is damn light, but not as light as I thought. Still, it is increadibly different. Much less metal, much less overhang and still basically the same storage capacity as I had before.

I am stoked.

Next year I will ditch the front leafs and make my fenders out of Moly. That should be good for a solid 3500# trailready :D

Realisticly, you look at Spaceghos and then your truck and is it possible to be 3500 with those axles and running gear?

From watching some video footage it sure looks like the four link can climb, seems to give a little more than the leafs..... giving more traction and control.

After watching BJs metamorfasis and the overall outcome it sure looks to be the wave of the future and now yours.

I guess the big question is how will the rear portal pan out, there is a guy on the Diesel mailing list who is selling his set off. Just not what he wants, but his criteria is much different than yours.

I think you mentioned you would like to still drive Kate on the road?

Now that would be something to see rolling down the road, I could just see my sons eyes bug out............

Looking good.

Rob
