full floater it is. after searching a little i think it should cost around $400. and i can keep my disk brakes and third member. does this sound right?

Yup, aftermarket HD shafts are available too...

Here is a question, but are you guys sure the disks will bolt up? I tooks some FJ40 DB brackets to a 40FF and the holes dont quite line up to the FF. It is just a matter of a new bracket i think but it isnt quite there. Maybe im an idiot, but its off and I tried clocking the bracket to all the holes. Anyways if there is a way without new brackets could you post info?

I still have a FF for sale....

IIRC you are right , the hole pattern id diff. Just weld , grind , drill .

sor is $405 plus shipping-that's with no brakes.

Just find yourself some spare axle shafts and maybe a spindle too cause when you break it you will have a hard time finding a spare.

edit: theres a better way of doing the disc brakes by butchering a couple 40 knuckles which will bolt on to the spindles and hold a set of stock cruiser calipers. I know Too Tall and Radd Cruisers did it. A little more pricy though. I think theres a write up in tech.
