Relocate rear axle

I want to move the rear axle of my BJ42 back 5cm.
What are my options?
If I drill a new hole in the plate welded to the axle where the leaf spring center pin goes, will it work? The axle will be anchored further back on the leaf spring; will this affect the spring's performance?

That’s why did 20 years ago drill new hole move it back your drive shaft might be too short after. Will also need a new hole in the plate the u bolts go through to get it all to line up and bolt back together. Not sure if your will get 5cm though.
