OK.

Few more details. Its actually a 1980 truck - built 12/79 my mistake. The shop said it might just need the head re-torqued since its had work done, but my boss still doesnt want to go ahead with any work to it since you just never know if thats what will fix it...

Click the link for a bunch of pictures of it sitting at Rocky Mountain Cruisers.

Now what do you guys think its worth??

heads and head gaskets aren't hard to come by. my best guess says it won't take to much time and money to make it run right,if you are going to do body work on it thats another story, you never know whats lurking under those diamond plate corners. $1500 tops to buy

Theres def rust under the diamond plates, theres also rust in the bed, and rust on top of the rear wheel wells as well. The floor has holes and patches on drivers side, but passenger side is in pretty solid shape.

So I should post it on craigslist for 1500?

yeah that is a reasonable price, of coarse iv'e seen 40's go for way more in worse condition. if it were me i would part it all out and sell anything in good useable condition.

Would really rather not part it out as I just don't have the time to deal with that right now :(

For all I know, a simple re-torque could solve the engine problems.

try it, if thats not the solution im sure there are alot of people that would be willing to buy it off you.that would be a great rig for someone looking to restore,or turn into a trail rider.

Wow.... I posted it on craigslist and it is now sold. 2500 was my asking, 2500 is what I got. Just pending my boss finding the title in his house.

Did I get good money or did I under price it??

wow... I woudl have jumped all over that... Should have offered it up here first...

So I under priced it ? Lol I asked for opinions and you guys said 1500! lol

So sell it to me for 3k.... Just tell the guy your sorry but have decided to keep it a bit longer...

;)

lol Too late - its been picked up and is off to the guys place to be put back together and flipped for more money :(

i think most people were hoping you would offer it here for 1500 so they could steal it from you!

you should have bought it from your boss, spent a few hundred getting it running and sold it for more. that was a nice looking rig you had.

so what are you gonna buy now?

Yea really didnt want to do a head job myself - after my supra turbo in HS I vowed to never take a head off a car myself haha.

I'd like a first gen 4 runner or a Tacoma for my work truck, but my boss seems to have other ideas. Any suggestions from you guys??

is a 2 door fine for you? or do you need ext. cab or 4 door? truck or suv?

i love the mini trucks with the straight axles. they are amazing little trucks i think. im assuming your wanting something older and it seems like you want a Yota. a fj55 would be sweet if you could find one locally that ran well. also it just depends on how much you have to spend. my friend paid $1000 for an 84 mini truck that was in perfect condition other than some minor bed rust.

Yea I do like older trucks - just a lot more character. Ron at Rocky Mountain said to stay away from an fj55 since everything is soooo hard to find on them. Its also so freaking big! lol I dont care if it has solid front axle or not really. Ive been looking at the less desirable 86+ yota trucks/4runners - however, my boss does want it to be big enough to keep junk in the back - like to be able to put a whole sheet of plywood back there - not sure if an old 4runner can do that... Run on sentence?
