I would if i could but wouldn't i need to do a lot of modding or buy new axles?

'67 has ball and claw. You would need a new axle unless you bought a JTO kit (don't recommend it). You would also need a new master cylinder and a few other odds and end.

Give Kurt or Mark's Off Road a shout and see what they have lying around for used stuff.
 
I would consider upgrading to disks and later model brakes. IIRC, 67s had the small fittings that are hard to find and the single circuit master cylinder that is a widow maker. Parts are hard to find and they are marginal brakes even when new.
 
Disk brakes are my favorite upgrade so far. Stopping straight is definitely not over rated! If you do not want to upgrade at this point, I would definitely try a rebuild of your wheel cylinders first. If you take your time and do a good job (assuming you cylinders are not terribly pitted), they will last a while. My rears are going on 2 years with no problems. Buy a rebuild kit from NAPA for $8 and an hone and go for it. It is pretty easy. However, I'm with most everybody else. A disk brake upgrade is definitely worth it.

well I just got done going through my brake system I Have 4 new cylinders on the front with new pads on both wheels. The rear will need to have the drums honed and new pads put on but for now they should last at least the winter. I also adjusted the push rod on the master. Finally I don't have to pump my brakes. Now it's time to veg out. My back, knees, and arms are tired as hell from those damn brakes. Anyone have suggestions on how to keep my brake components clean or how often I should inspect them? TIA
 
I believe drum brakes should be adjusted every 6 months.

If you have lost the rubber plugs that fits in the adjustment holes, I would get a set and plug up those holes. They do help keep out some crap.

As you know, keeping drum brakes adjusted evenly is a pain but it is still better than the alternative of not being able to stop.
