So a while ago I got my front calipers, brake pads and rotors replaced on my 1996 80, but have just noticed that a small part of the brake pad is sitting outside the brake rotor (as shown in the attached photos).

The rotors are 311mm which is the correct size and brake pads are for "90-"98 80s, so it looks like calipers are the problem.
The calipers I ordered were for 1992-06/1995 model 80s, so it would seem obvious that this is the problem, with mine being 1996. However, before ordering the calipers I did abit of research and found that post 1995 calipers were supposedly exactly the same as pre 1995, just a different part number from change of manufacturer or something (can't remember exactly). So just wondering if anyone knows for sure if "92 - "98 calipers were all the same, and my aftermarket calipers are just manufactured wrong, or they did in fact change, explaining why mine don't fit quite right.
TIA

I am not sure if it is the fact that the pictures are so close but the caliper looks to be very rough. Since you know they are aftermarket I am guessing that isn't due to rust etc, but maybe poor manufacturing. Being that I am in a different location and its possible the builds for that market are significantly different I recommend you use partsouq.com or simular sight and look up the part numbers for your vehicle and then look for an older model for the same area and see if they are different.

I think that is interesting to know if they are all the same in that location, but the real quetion is, do you still have the old calipers you took off and are they rebuildable? After doing the dance to get calipers that didn't stick I now try to rebuild calipers before replacing as your new aftermarket or rebuilt OEM may not pass your own personal quality standards.

in addition the price is significantly cheaper to rebuild than replace.

Update: they calipers are indeed slightly different before/after 1995. I have got new calipers on and the brake pads now sit where they should.
