Can anyone answer what the differences are between the 89 through to 93 brake boosters on the Forerunners , I need to replace my booster on my Land Cruiser and over in the Cruiser world the guys are swapping out with the 93 Forerunner booster getting a firmer pedal response.
I hit the local pick and pull yard and they had a couple of 89 and 90 models and when I search it out in the Toyota parts bank they list several part #s from 89 to 93, to me they look fairly similar in appearance just would like some feedback from you guys on the difference between them.

The only differences I can think of in those years was the availability of rear ABS but I don't know why the booster would be different.

Booster should be the same across generations.

Both of my '40s have '91 4runner boosters. The brakes work very well. My '78 has the original master with original brakes (rear drum). My '76 has an fzj80 master and 4w disc brakes.

The only downside to this booster is that the booster overlaps one bolt of the clutch master, so you have to loosen the booster from the firewall to remove the clutch master. Buy Toyota so you don't have to replace it often. The one I got at Napa went out after six months and only a couple hundred miles.
