I'm well on my way to replacing the brake booster pump. It's removed and I'm ready to install the new one. However I'm not sure where the O'ring that came with the new one goes. Logically it really can only fit around the "lovejoy" but I don't see that it had one prior to uninstall and it seems like it could wear easily in that spot.
