What's the trick to getting everything to sit square? I got fenders on no problem and apron as well. Hood is off to the damn left by like .25 and forward 3/8""!!!!

What did I do wrong?

was the tub off the frame?

do not tighten anything up til you get proper alignment with everything.

just snug to allow for adjustment in any way

were your aprons off of the fenders?

what was the reason for braking down the front end?

I hate when that happens.

Tore everything down. The tub is just sitting on the frame right now, energy suspension body mount kit arriving shortly. So....I bolted the front on to a loose tub.....

Just went through that last week put a 3 in sill in the rear instead of 2 1/2 in nothing lined up wound up lifting the front of the body 1/2 in there is a lot of playing, pushing, shoving but you will get it .Good luck.

the left to right issue sounds like the body is not sitting on the frame straight

check your body holes for adjustment then check the hood again

Body is not bolted down yet.......

i got mine all done went to put hood on and it hangs over the bib about 3/4 inch and off the side about the same nothing lines up. so dont feel bad. i guess i should have checked it before i tighten it all up oh well. time to loosen everything up and start tweeking

Pretty sure they do

do all the body holes line up

From what I recall they do. I don't have the damn bodymounts just yet......I might drop bolts into them just to see, right now.

I echo the tub not being lined up....... 3" is a lot even if the tub was lined up perfectly I am not sure you could get that far off with ONLY the other adjustments. It is funny because I also am bolting mine up and now all of a sudden the passenger door and the windshield frame would hit each other HARD if I was to close the door. NEVER was like that before.... O can visually see the passenger door kinda at an angle in towards the top. It is an easy fix but it wasnt that way!

is this a new or old tub ,i just went through the same thing because the cowl on one side bent back a bit make sure the door openings are square on both sides.good luck

1976 original tub.

I ended up installing the tub mounting bolts loosely, installing front end, and pushing and pulling for about an hour before everything began to line up.

Bolt bib, fenders, and aprons together off the truck. Adjust/slot/whatever fender holes to allow bolt up. That'll get you the best alignment on those parts. Then bolt it all to the truck, bib hinge, fender holes, etc. Post up your hood problems afterward, no way to check alignment without the tub bolted.

Added pics above...

When I was test fitting my front end I was having pretty much the same issues you are having until I loosened up the bolts where the fenders attach to the frame considerably.

Once they were real loose I could get everything else to line up good. I got everything snugged up while in alignment and then tightened those 8 bolts last. Seemed to work for me on my truck.

You say you got the fenders on okay and the aprons (of course, the aprons are bolted to the fenders, so they go where the fenders go). I say your fenders are not on correctly......loosen them WAY up and move them around....show us the gap between the fenders and the tub in a pic(s)
