0mm offset seems like a great idea until it isn’t
Having work done by your buddies who are a "body guy" and a "welder" because it was free is also a great idea until it isn't. At least I hope they didn't actually charge him for this work...

You might post here or in one of the local Alabama Clubhouse pages where you are located in Alabama to find a trusted fab shop that can fix this right. Around Birmingham I have heard good things about OTM Cruisers. Just know it'll cost more to fix this than it would have cost to do it right the first time.

Absolutely this right here!!

Stop the bleeding and get this done properly.. I'm sorry your going through this. I would be sick..

Anyone have photos they can post up showing how it should be done for comparison (IDK)?

Here's a good example of a properly chopped 200 series. MTKID on Mud on Instagram: "Body mount chop for 37’s on another LX @x_factr_adventures (just a little more clearance than the first chop). #200series #landcruiser #200serieslandcruiser #lx570 #lxor #lexuslandcruiser #j201 #ih8mud #37s @lexususa" - https://www.instagram.com/reels/C9AiNAQxfZH/
Pretty sure this is @MTKID and he's running much bigger tires with likely similar offset to the OP.

Here are a few photos in case that Instagram link isn’t accessible by everyone, however the OP is already past this point.

All fixable, with knowledge and skill. Just find someone with more experience.

First mistake, IMO was the offset of the wheel, even if free, but even that can be worked around. The body mount chop you’ll end up with would nearly accommodate a 37” tire with proper offset. That is what the above was cut for.

Mods, please find where this guy lives and take his truck away to save it

Why is there still a gaping hole at the end of it after the repair?

Also, did the repair use really thin metal? Looks much thinner than stock while it’s already compromised due to the welding heat weakening the metal…. Not a smart move to use thin gauged metal.

Please take this to a professional body repair shop and not a buddy who will do it for free/lower price. This needs serious help for your safety.

I’m taking it to a professional once I’m back in town from a business trip. I got the bug and started moving to fast while trying to save money. Now that will come back to bite me. It is what it is. I appreciate the sound advice.

Additionally, I’m not going to delete my account or this thread. I don’t even know how to for real. As I said in a previous reply, “I got the bug, and started moving too fast.” This matter will be resolved, and I will slow it down. This mistake will likely turn into a lot of money that could have otherwise been saved (or spent on other accessories).

I always got humor browsing Internet forums and Reddit, watching OP continue to dig his grave. It hits different when you’re the OP of said dilemma.

I’m not a fool, just an inpatient fool. You’ll see me around here. My 200 isn’t going anywhere. No matter the cost. That’s why this hurts so bad, because I know I’ll spend whatever it takes to fix it.

I think you should also think about replacing those hacked up inner fender liners. Did he use a Sawzall to cut them? Yikes..

The structural integrity is my biggest concern right now. He definitely hacked them away. I spent a lot of time cutting and trimming the fender liners to fit my old tires. I was sad to see what they did. This whole experience has been nauseating.

A decent welding shop can fix this up without breaking the bank. You'll be fine in no time.

Good news is it's only metal, and they make more of it.

Props for sharing the good bad and ugly. That's the type of info communities learn from. Wish others would share as candidly the realities of experiences and mods.
