Latest project is repairing the dash trim that goes around the heater controls. Pics are from the iPhone so they are a little grainy.

Started out sanding down the paint with some 180 grit. Laid down 3 layers of adhesion promoter. Then a few layers of primer. Then wet sanded with 600 grit. The few layers of high build filler. Then sand smooth with some 600 grit.

Thats where I am up to now. Next up is the sealer. (Hopefully tomorrow)

i run my 33`s on 36-38psi,carefully watching if the middle of the tire is too up or the sides are too up,......this is just my opinion but it hasn`t failed me,
if there pumped up 40+ the middle is raised and premature ware will happen, same on lesser psi the outsides of the tire will ware,
and this is only important if driving on the road etc.. ( in other words a level tire is ;)

and offroad in da mud,who cares!

by the way that dash trim looks great allready!!

what colour are you finishing with??

jas;)

I am going to be finishing the trim with a flat black. Going to put a clear coat on it and the use some rubbing compund on it. Hopefully it will have just a slight gloss and have good depth. So far so good though. Very happy with where it is going.

Thanks for the psi info.

Got a little farther with the trim

Went to Target and got a fabric steamer for $25 and removed the ugly purple tint that was on it. Took about 2 hours. Worked well. Now I can test my rear defroster and see if I need to replace the rear glass or not. Then I can re-tint.

I hate to keep harassing you about your lights but where did you get your leds and wiring for your running lights and tag lights and did you do your blinker's also?

Few Updates:

Got my Carb fan running. No more vapor lock. Yay!!!!

Put a new K&N air filter in. Truck was having a hard time breathing. Between the fan and the air filter its already running better.

My inverter came in but haven't gotten hooked up yet.

Also started my LED conversion. I have a few pics.

Not happy with the LED lights for the parking lights so I am going to replace those but the side marker is great.

Rear Side Marker before and after. Very happy:

Took this with one bulb still stock:

Thanks for all the information on the H4 and HID lights. I pretty much copy everything you did.

@bambuhiphop when you installed those new speakers in the front, did you drill and tap new holes for the four bolt pattern? Also did you replace the stock head unit? I am currently having some trouble with my install.

@fj60cruiser - I actually haven't installed them yet. My plan is to drill and tab new holes. My truck didn't have the stock radio when I got it. I have since taken out the aftermarket unit the PO put in. I will be installing a new one when I get to the stereo install.

what size tires do u have in the original pics u posed? stock suspension? LOVE the color on the blacked out rims btw, im hoping to get mine looking like that in the next year

They are Goodyear 31x10.50P15LT tires. It is the stock suspension. Little saggy but not to bad.

Thanks on the rims. That was one of the reasons I bought the truck. So far as I tell they are color matched to the truck paint.

Did you put those super nice speakers in yet? I'd love a picture of too. I'm so tired of my nasty OEM speakers. I was looking at the link you put up for the speakers, whats that little extra satellite thing-a-ma-bob that hangs off the end?

Any updates on this? How about your 2F-E? Just wondering how things turned out....

I really appreciate the time you're taking with your write up. There is a lot of good info here that will save a lot of people a lot of time.
Thanks -
Good looking truck.
