I am looking for an 06-07 LC for my wife and am wondering if the bluetooth
system lets you play music from an iphone through the stereo system.

I have searched mud with not hits. After looking online I do not think it does
but thought I would ask the experts.

There should be an aux port instead, but I am making an assumption.

No there isn't auxiliary input. If you wanna listen to music you gotta buy a integration kit. Good news, you won't have to sacrifice the DVD changer as there is an extra plugin. If you go that route, I suggest the vais kit. This has been beaten to death but it is the more expensive integration kit, but works the best with the easiest installation.

No there isn't auxiliary input..

Man, what a cheap car.
Don't have one in my 99 but figured Mr. T would be smart enought to include the Aux port by the time VVTI was introduced.

I guess the 100 was marketed to 70-year-old smokers... 'cause while the '06-07 have an ashtray and lighter, there's no aux plug! Just think of a 2006 Land Cruiser as a very well appointed 1986 SUV - and you'll nail all the expected technology and luxury features such as power windows and lumbar support, tilt sunroof and heated seats... and the best part: a cassette deck and conveniently located (taking up a s*** ton of space in the center console) 5-disc changer!

When I started looking at these, the first one I looked at was a 2007 at a dealer. I sat in the driver seat looking around. Then said...
Me: "Hey, are you sure this is a 2007?"
Sales guy: "Yep, 2007"
Me: "Dude, no way. Where's the VIN plate..."
Sale guy: "Really. It's a 2007"
Me: "Can't be. See this was a $68,000 SUV. My 2000 Grand Cherokee has more stuff on it than this. What year is it really?"
Sales guy: "Im not kidding. It's a 2007"
Me: "Come on - look... it's got a cassette deck. When was the last time you saw one of those? And there's a cigarette lighter... really - what year is it?"

I bought a 2006 and installed all the VAIS stuff - integrated iPod, XM Satellite... but still no Bluetooth music.

The Japanese like to smoke cigarettes and listen to old tapes...

The Aux port is simple. Only takes 10 minutes.
You need a phillips head and you just tape the end of a kitchen knife if you dont have a strong plastic tool that fits between the stereo and dash.
Hardest part is feeding the cable from behind the radio around and down the dash to a spot where you can easily access it from the cab and tucking the cable under the center consol panels.

That 10 minutes includes digging through the tool box, taping the knife up and for me walkign the 10 yards or so to where my car was parked.

For interest's sake - at least for prius (but I'm pretty sure across Toyota models) 2010 is the first model year to have bluelpgic package which includes Bluetooth a2dp capability allowing you to play music from phone via bluetooth.

also interesting to me isi that 2004 and 2005 prius have the exact same (crappy) MFD as the lc/lx. Amazingly, though, in 2006+ model years the prius introduced the gen 5 navs and the aux inputs, meanwhile Lexus/Toyota's top of the line suv at over twice the price keeps the old/outdated mfd and no aux inport for 2006 and 2007 (until 2008 for the new model year).

Tahomatom - how and where did you connect the aux port to the HU?
Do you have pics?
