It’s not that good for calls, but works decent for music which is what I wanted. I’ll probably replace the head unit, but this thing does the trick for now.

Today while recording a memo on my phone, I noticed while recording it my lx470 acted like I was on a phone call. I then replayed my message and it played it through my speakers. If I can do this why can’t I also stream music from my iPhone?

As I understand it, it has to do the the Bluetooth "profile" that is being used for the phone to audio system connection.

The OEM stereo in my LX seems to use the "Hands-Free Profile (HFP)"

The profile used to stream music is the "Advanced Audio Distribution Protocol (A2DP)"

I have a NIB VAIS iPhone/iPod/usb adapter currently for sale if that helps anyone. Plugs into the back of the factory radio and allows use of the factory radio and steering wheel controls to select tracks, etc.

It just seems that if the memo recorder can play over the hfp that there should be an app that can send the music over it as well

I just downloaded Bluetooth streamer pro. It uses hfp for Bluetooth streaming and it worked. Sound quality isn’t great, but it works with out doing anything!
