Maybe I can drag Steve out of lurk mode to tell the story...............

All I can say is: I give Bloomingdale's customer service department a five-star A+ rating. :D

I am guessing someone wrote down an address wrong and sent that to Bloomingdale's.:D Good thing they are returning it. You almost lost that:eek: Thats pretty damn funny.

Let's hear it for our amazing (and mysterious) US Postal Service.

About a month ago after I got my new t-bird emblem from Gene (LandCruiserJunky), I dropped the loaner emblem that Jim (Cruiser_Nerd) so graciously let me borrow into a USPS Priority Mail box for an anticipated prompt 3-day return.

After not hearing from Jim for nearly a month that he received it, I went into the expected panic and started cursing myself for not springing an extra buck or two to send it registered mail (with a tracking number). :o

Obviously I put Jim's correct address on the box to begin with . . . . otherwise Bloomingdale's wouldn't have known where to eventually send it.

But, how the hell it ended up in another city at another address that's not even close to Jim's, is anyone's guess. (Play Twilight Zone theme here.)

Anyway, I'm going to start doing all my FJ25 parts shopping at Bloomingdale's from now on. With that kind of customer service, how can you go wrong??

Thanks again, Jim. Now I can call back the Suicide Hot Line and tell them to take me off their "watch list." :)

:D :D They sent it in a Tyvek envelope................just a piece of metal afterall. ;)

Now for the real Twilight Zone........while that was sitting in their customer service department attempting to get identified............I just happened to be touring the office building next door. Maybe the T-Bird was playing homing pigeon and just trying to take the shortest route back home.

The only thing remotely similar is the zip code, one digit and twenty miles off.

Now, that makes this story even creepier.

Kinda makes you wonder how many other times and places in the past month that you may have been within shouting distance of the emblem, as it was so desperately trying to reach you. Could you feel its presence?? Did it somehow call out to you??

Wouldn't it have been really weird if they simply put it back in stock, and you stumbled upon it five years from now in a "bargain bin" during a Bloomingdale's Memorial Day sale?

Just for fun, I say we throw that sucker back in the mail and see where it turns up next . . .

. . . NOT!!
