Hey Black Project 80,

Bump from South America! So, how did she end up running?? It's been a while since your last post...

Regards,

Hey Longuito, thanks for the bump! How's things down there in the southern hemisphere?

I got temporary plates and drove her around a couple days and went for Colorado emissions testing with only 40 miles on the clock. She PASSED!

It's been running great and I have 364 miles on her now. I haven't driven it much this week as I'm doing a lift installation. All is done except the caster bushings. I need to find a press, or take it somewhere that has one.

I still need to baseline the diff and t-case fluids, grease the driveshafts/u-joints, etc.

My next major project will be kicking the driver's seat back as far as I can within reason. My shin musckles get sore after only a half hour of holding my foot over the pedal.

Then, I will do rear bumpers, sliders, under-armor. I already have a ARB front bumper (non winch, but it was a good deal).

Great to hear back from you! Like many others subscribed to the htread, I look forward to hearing on the latest and greatest on the rig. After the lift, please sned PHOTOS!! Thanks and all the best,

Sir you did a great good. I really enjoyed reading your thread. Any updates on the lift? What size springs did you go with?

Thanks guys. She has a bit over 900 miles on her and is running great!
Here are a couple of pictures with the lift.
The lift is 2.5" OME, 850 / 860. I put on 285/75R16 Duratracs on some freshly powdercoated wheels that match my valve cover.
I've got all the basline fluids done I think. Next is sliders and armor and a back bumper, and, and... In reality, next is probably an oil change. :flipoff2:

Was looking over rebuilds & planning to purchase a longblock w/ low miles as possible to keep mothballed - REALLY impressive & information rich the 1st page, both in pics & words.

Excellent to see rebuilds happening when it just seems so **easy** to make a 'Chev-ota" out of an 80, more specific a "LS-ota" - not knocking it, I see why guys do it - just that as you said, rebuilding gets pretty $$$, even when you talk a LS swap.

Impressed & it must be nice having a "new" 1FZ-FE motor - you're set for 300K+ !!!

Finally found your thread....

W.....O.....W

Can't WAIT to get started on mine now....damn you! lol.

i also hadn't seen your thread before. as for the "cleaned" injectors having issues being uncommon, i'm thinking it may be more common than he's letting on. years ago, i had all mine done (don't remember what shop) and upon installation, i had a bad one too. i understand just what a pita it is to pull the injectors without pulling the intake.

i've got a low mileage long block in the garage and the head off the nuclearmarshmallow...hopefully a rebuild will be coming soon for it.

Hey rkymtnman, good to hear from you. Let's get your power steering pump rebuilt! I'm in! Provided we don't get buried in snow...

Hi Ige! It was great to meet you a few months ago. Hope the old (new?) Fat Bastard is doing you good. You're gonna hate that pig in the hot summer sun though!

Take care folks!

yeah, not looking forward to the black. i did add a white roof (i put the maggiolina on ;) ) it's getting there. waiting for all the snow to stop for a weekend so i can throw the new diffs in and figure out how to wire the arbs to a stock diff locks switch. only that, sliders, misc little things and tcase mods for part time and it will be done until i build the engine for it. woohoooooo

@dluke80s no, I don't have a list. I used @beno 's list of all the parts to order. Sorry I don't have a link for that, but it was a pdf file, and very helpful for all the little things you might overlook, and some of the big things you might have thought unnecessary, like the wiring harness.

Are you looking to rebuild your engine? You're in the right place!

And welcome to 'mud! :flipoff2: Hope you stick around..
