Hmmm, nothing special about those 3rds.. I think the 3.73s have either blinded you with brilliance of baffled you with BS... Either way, angles look damn good to me.

I'm still trying to figure out how my rig is doing with the swap. So far here's my observation. I can do speeds in 4 th gear I used to only be able to do in 5th. I haven't been able to get it up to 70 yet because I have a roof rack and kayak mounted.

In an unexpected pleasant surprise the new diffs line up better with the front drive shaft. My rig is SOA but is not cut and turned. The old diffs were at an angle that could sometimes bind if there's to much flex.

If you have no C&T and your pinion angle looks like that, then your caster must be off. There is absolutely zero difference in the thirds you took out and put in from the mounting flange out.

hmmm, the last time I checked my caster angle I was at -0.5* with the shims in. I did rotate the tires and it pulls slightly to the right now, but that has to do with toe not caster. It may be that my memory is mocking me, but I could swear it looks more aligned than with the other diffs.

EDIT: I can't find any before pics. I may be remembering it when it's on the lift with the old diffs vs the new ones when it's on the ground. Another sign I'm going senile.

Guys, I may have a problem. A Lamborghini parked next to Big Red and I didn't care to take a picture. It could have actually parked under it. Today I drove next to an 80 series on my way to Ft Worth, I scrambled to get my camera out because it had a snorkel. WTF is this condition called?

There was also two restored vw beetle from the 60s. One of them with a really supped up engine. But I didn't take any more pictures because I was beginning to look suspicious to the MPs.

Time is coming up for an oil change. What are you guys with the 4bt using and how many quarts. I can't remember what I did last time.

I've run Delo in the past but I'm now a Valvoline guy in the 15W-40 grade. It's got the Cummins approval stamp on it. I like the napa gold/wix oil filters but there are better ones, I just think they are a good blend of performance and cost. Capacity is 10 -11 quarts I believe.

I'm planning on the Valvoline 15W-40 as well with Fleetguard filters on my next O/C.

I believe the sump is LOW 8qt/ High 10qt IIRC on my reading.

What's the product number on the fleetguard filter? and at what intervals are you guys changing the oil? I've been using a wix filter, but interested to see if the fleetguard will fit (I'm assuming it's longer) from what I've read.

The one I'm looking at is the LF3345. Where I have my dual filter I have plenty of room, especially after I do my exhaust re-route.

Rotella 15w-40 in mine. ~10 quarts with stock rear sump oil pan, ~8 quarts with my sectioned oil pan.
