Did you drop ceramic into the cylinder?
I suspect the mechanic did. Hasn't been running right since I brought her home. It's a pain to work on cause it's a horizontally opposed engine that's air-cooled and has very little room to fit my hands and tools.

I forgot to post the night shots with the light bar on.

I ordered roughly 2k worth of new parts and upgrades for big red. Decided to give little red some of attention she's been lacking and drove her all weekend. Finally figured out her misfire and hesitation, she now runs like a race car. Gets to 7000 rpm way too easily.

With these old cars, cheap copper spark plugs with no dielectric grease or anti seize is the way to go. She's been running on five cylinders for a while. Sometime next year she's going in for a top end rebuild because that's what air-cooled engines require.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, used a scope to make sure all the ceramic pieces from the broken spark plug were taken out or had fallen between the fins. Was a PITA because there's virtually no space to work back there, but glad I took the time.

Tires look a bit bald Mike. :hmm:
I can’t tell at all REDs your color... 😁:D
I jokingly mentioned that I was going to need new tires soon, she went off on me about the 6 other sets I have in the backyard. It was not easy convincing her I was kidding. It's a good guess, but no, I'm not getting new tires...yet.

My motorcycle is black and chrome, so I kinda like other colors....sometimes.

That blue civic is hers.

Happy Thanksgiving MUD. I'm thankful for all the help and insight you've given me over the years. Hoping you're spending the day with those you love, and keep in mind those who are away from theirs.

She's been sagging, so I ordered some boss air bags. Decided to replace both bags and have the line go thru the rear bumper.

Waiting on my other shipment of goodies to arrive.

Did a range day with the boys. Some have been given deployment notices.
Didn't take many pics, but had a great time.

It let us approach it.

Tested out the new air bags around the property. Had it up to 35 mph in 4wd without any vibrations, so I guess that offset U joint in the front isn't an issue.
I taught my son how to shoot with a pistol today. He's got a really tight grouping and some serious potential if he continues to listen to his old man. He's only previously shot rifles.

Those U bolt heads are a terrible surface for when the airbags make contact. You should figure out how to get a flat plate to have it hit against. Maybe get some threaded couplings to screw onto the threads of the U bolts and a plate with recessed holes for bolts to thread into the coupling.

I'll get it fixed, but the timing sucks. I'm taking the family camping tomorrow, so I don't have time to mess with it.

Use the trailer and stop taking so much crap in your truck :)
I'm about to install a 40-gallon steel fuel tank which will add roughly 400 lbs once full. So yeah, I really need to get this fixed and reinforced.

Looks like it twisted since it is only supported by two bolts? You can probably make a better mount using some u-bolt spring plates instead or make some out of thicker plate.

I think that mount is supposed to sit flat on the springs and not span the gap between the nuts. Add a spacer?
I will be adding some spacers of sorts. The distributors of Boss suspension made the mount for me about 4 or 5 years ago and it held up pretty well until I went to Lee's place last weekend and hit a ditch with the bags fully inflated at a speed not for a 4x4 application.

Ah, there was drinking involved!
Nah, I was with my kid and live ammo. It was just tall grass that concealed the ditch.

But yes, normally we're two sheets to the wind at the range.
