Well, maybe I'm more of a chicken than he was...But in all honesty, I can't really imagine doing that now- unless MAYBE you were locked front and back and had super low gearing.
How are those 60 springs working out for you?
Justin
nice rig man will the 60 rear springs push the axle back a few inches? Mine needs new springs all around and was thinking about some 55 or 60 springs to give me a few inch wb stretch. 35 years of snowplow duty in Colo. Sprgs took there toll on the springs.
Looks great! Good to know there's so many 40 guys close here.
I'm in central Cali now I bought mine bone stock in black forest back in 07' when I was helping a friend with work for a few months. Its mostly rusted out but I wouldnt get rid of it for any amount of money. I am looking at moving to Colo Springs when
funds allow. Its about the most beautiful country I have seen.I did get the original paper work when it was bought new back in 72 and all maintenece records from that time. Im still not sure what route to go with for suspension whether sua or soa trying to figure whats best for me.
Glad your moving back! It is beautiful country here. Having the original paperwork and maintenance records makes it much more personal when you know the history of the vehicle.
I decided to go SOA with mine. Justin at Redline is working on mine currently. It should ride, stop, and handle like a modern vehicle. It should also wheel the back country like a mountain goat!
That would be great Coe! Congratulations on your baby girl! Definitely a life changer in a good way!
If go SOA would it be better to flip rear springs and put rear springs up front or flip the front springs also. I dont want to SR and if I go SOA it will be like Marks style with no c&t. But whatever way I go, I need to buy a welder and learn how to use it
Did I mention Coe that you have done a flippin sweet job so far. I dont have near the skills of a lot of these guys on these threads but I got a lot of ideas. Just need the skills to pull em off, that and money.
How does Big Muddy drive the hardtop after SOA.I took my hardtop off on 07 and never put it back on.Body wouldnt support it anymore.Besides I live in Cali, so who needs a top besides a bikini top.It was my dd for a year n a half but country roads took there toll. Its ghetto rigged back together but will be done right soon. I was gonna half cab the hardtop but still cant seem to cut into it yet
Hey thanks man. I read Marks website today and it gave some things to think about.![]()
