Greetings & wishing all 24’ be the best year of their lives!!!!!!
Searching for windshield frame for my 1977 40 . Also need of a hood for same .
Also best Soft top for same .

New to this so not sure where exactly one posts for help/advice on carburetor issues. Recent purchase from Central America and not positive if the elevation there vs southern Louisiana could be the cause. Runs like 💩 and even whilst running will not stay on without giving it gas but even giving it gas it’s just not a purr , definitely rough. I’m a car guy and understand carbs are just a completely different language. Playing around I noticed a leak at pump which turned out to be a rotted hose (🙏🏼😇) so counted as a victory in my book . Along the process i went ahead and changed supply hose from tank and leaky hose from pump to carb till it turns rigid on either end both interrupted by in line filters. Filters shed a bit of light as to some ugly 💩’Y fuel leaving the tank (old showed tremendous build up and a bit of rusty orange fuel vs new after first start evident crud coming from tank). Which has steered my next step to pull tank clean/inspect etc. I am certain a carb rebuild is imperative , possible even eying pump. I read a few threads on the two known sources for rebuild through here Mjim/Jhon Doe?? I believe or could be wrong I’m in a forum zombie like state reading forums watching YouTube’s etc .. Never the less if anyone knows who’d fit the bill I’d appreciate or is Webber best option ?? Not many shops in my area that I’m yet aware of anyway that work on these 40’s around here . I‘m pretty sure the tank inside is going to break my heart (Jkn but close) and turn into what I’m calling “the big easy 40 blues” but i know its part of the beauty of old cars. Any info/help is grandly appreciated . I’ve read a many threads on here and am feeling the good vibes and fountain of information folks bring and are willing to share . Thanks in advance and Happy 24’ to all !

Welcome aboard. You will love the adventure that you are about to go on. The quest as i call it will be fun and rewarding. I call them wizards here on Mud just because of the overwhelming amount of knowledge. Have fun and enjoy.

Thanks you so much . And yes if we ain’t having fun what’s the point …

If you post in the tech section, and provide lots of glamour shots of your rig, a few people will step up and help you narrow things down to where you can be more sure if the carburetor is the culprit, or just the victim.

If it is the carburetor, I can probably help. I just finished a rebuild on a South American carb for @kunzma that did have a couple of unique problems that a do it yourselfer would have had trouble fixing themselves.

AHHH 65swb45 = Jhon Doe… The other name that came up through the threads as one of two carb wizards .. THNAKS for the feedback and information , I’ll try my luck posting there . I’ll PM you to get your opinion on my carb and see if there’s something you can help me with . DEFINITELY “”UNIQUE”” issues going on with this carb set up . Thanks again !

Hello Mr. Mark thanks for the invaluable info . What’s the cost of rebuilding my current carb ? Also what’s your thoughts on Webber set up ? Beneficial performance advantages with Webber or not worth it in your opinion ?

I have an extra WS frame........PM me
