am thinking of buying a full set of
BFGOODRICH ALL TERRAIN T/A KO2 LT33/12.50R15 108R RWL ALL-SEASON TIRE
and my question is, has anyone tried those on a 73 series cruiser?? is it worth it? no rubbing against frame??
all feedback will be greatly appreciate it, am building my cruiser and i want to do it right, thank you

Are you installing these tires on the stock rims or aftermarket with a different offset?
That size tire will almost definitely rub on the frame rails with stock rims while flexing the suspension.
The BFG AT KO2 is great in dirt, loads up in mud, works reasonably well in snow and good in rocky terrain.

Thank you for your feedback, what after market wheels do you recommend?

I guess I did not realize the 73 came with a 15 inch rim. Aren't stock trims 16s?
I am running BFG A/Ts and I like thw tires. I am running 17" Sequoia rims with adapters though.

Stockers are 15x6.

No way will a 33/12.50 15 tire fit on a stock width wheel. The wheels are way too thin. Minimum rim width required is 8.5 inches.

To keep the tires from rubbing on the rear wheelhousings you will need no more than 3 inches of backspace. Stock backspace is ~3.5 inches.

do you guys recommend the
Mickey Thompson Classic III Black Wheels for my BJ73, along with the tires mention above?

That wheel in the 15 inch diameter has 3.6 inches of backspace and is only available in an 8 inch width with the correct bolt pattern. It is narrower than the minimum width BFG recommends. A 33x12.50/15 tire mounted on that wheel will rub the rear wheelhousings.

You could get a 15x10 variant of that wheel in the polished version. The tires will still rub the wheelhousings however because the backspace is the same 3.6 inches.

You should run a 33x10.50. That should clear.
Luckily BFG sizes pretty small, so you have that on your side.

The 12.50 should wait for a lift.

Not sure about the backspacing but I'd be really surprised if those tires did not fit. I get that you need more than my "guess " though, tires aren't cheap. The 8" rim is not recommended I know but it should take that tire fine. Also the BFK KO2 has been a great tire for me, and I used to hate the things, mainly because of the old square look of the original design.

Thank you, am looking at other wheel options, worse comes to worse i'll just leave it as is with same tire size

285/75/16 BFG KM2 tires on 16x8 wheels with 3 5/8 backspace brushed (under articulation) the inner wheelhousings on my BJ74. That is over an inch narrower than a 33/12.50/15.

Yep that's a lot different. A 285 is 11.2" in diameter. So even if the BFG runs small, like you said, it is still an inch wider.

All good with being corrected, I need to learn these fitment items too.

My current wheel/spacer combo nets 3 inches of backspace. Running the exact same tire, nolo rubo.....

I bought a truck with 33x12.5R15 BFGs on OEM wheels. They will fit your rig with slight rub on inner rear wheel wells. As previously mentioned, that width tire is not recommended for that narrow of a wheel but people do it not infrequently.

On a related note, I have those wheels for sale

Here are a couple of pics of the rub:
