I figured I’d let y’all know, I ended up with a set of 35x12.50r15 BFG KM3s!

I had wanted 33s but I scored such an awesome deal on these tires I couldn’t pass them up. I fear of fender clearance and even attempting to turn those tires with sloppy manual steering, but I have remedies for both of those issue. I bought spare junk fenders today to cut up so I can keep my other fenders nice. And I just finished gathering all the pieces I need to install power steering!

If they don't fit I have some 33 coopers with about 20k on them I'll trade you. Those BFGs aren't really all that nice anyways, I'm sure they're loud and heavy and whatnot. :)
Oh yeah, they aren’t nice at all, really low end tires.

Planning to regrear?

Ideally yes so I could go places with a faster than 45s 0-60 but I don’t have the money right now so I’m just gonna go slow everywhere.

I'm asking because WAY back in the day, my first vehicle, was an 84 mini-truck. I put 33's on and it rendered 5th gear useless and I it took a toll on the clutch as well. I can't imagine 35s on stock drivetrain. Then again, that was my daily driver.

This is my daily driver too... I don’t expect a lot out of it performance wise but I’ll see. I definitely need to go lower gears though.

I have ran the original KMs and KM2 on the cruiser in URE. The KM2s have better Road manners but, they are too soft for the rocks at URE. They got shredded pretty bad in a rather short time.

According to BFG these are supposed to be stronger than the KM2s, I’m not sure about the tread compound. But for $116 a tire I’m happy with anything.

Same on the KM2's. Ran them on 04 100 at 36 hour race and they got chunked pretty badly however we were not easy on them at all. The BFG rep said the KM3's were built tougher than KM2s.

Pictures just cuz it's the internutz.

Jebus, where did you get them for that I'm looking to buy some for the bronco

Yeah for that price it would be worth the poop chute boogie.

From WHERE?! and do they ship? lol

@angerhater @Zjohnsonua @lt1fire

it’s complicated, so I go to school at Clemson down here in SC. And Michelin, who owns BFG, has a large facility located 15min from here. People who work for Michelin have access to overstock and discontinued tires at a reduced cost, up to 28 tires a year per employee. The selection is constantly changing and very inconsistent, that’s why I have 35s instead of 33s. My friend who is from down here that I knowthrough the Clemson offroad club, had a friend who worked for Michelin, and he got the tires for me through him.

you may not have an issue trading someone for 33's if that is the case. If you still wanted 33's over 35's that is.

After getting hung up at URE in the 40 due to clearance last time, twice, I'm gonna try to forget that I read that.

I bought a set of junk fenders for $30 to cut up, and have a full power steering set up ready to install, so hopefully with that my only issue will be gearing. Which I can live with for now, I drive my moped pretty much everywhere. And when I have the money I’ll regear to 4.56s or 4.88s.

Stroke that chevy out to a 383, if you want fuel injection find a tpi set up on ebay... the long intake runners are great for low down torque, custom chip it, etc......

That's not instead of doing gears.... I just wanted to point out that you should do that with the 350 you are building... LOL

see if you can find some chevy cucv full size axles. Already geared to 4.56 and a locker in the 14 bolt. They are getting harder and harder to find though, but food for thought.

And then let me know what you want for the 2f.... I need it to build a 2fe project. ;)
