There is also rock auto. I need to replace my DS. It ticks until the engine warms up. I was quoted $500... no thanks!

My '04 also ticks at start up from cold. Passenger side. Goes away once hot.

Any ideas on what labor might be for the passenger side manifold? I have a '96 with a crack and got quoted $900 for part, gasket and labor. Sounds a bit high if Toyota online parts has it for about $125

DT transforms the driving experience. ; <0

And they stopped using cheap metal. I have to replace my driver side from the original DT''s. I did the passenger side in 4 hours.

Passenger side is easy to get to, only about 45 min of labor i would guess.
You're fast- and must not have any rusty fasteners on your truck-

I can barely wash my truck in 45 minutes :hillbilly:

No doubt... it took me several hours for each side!

I have a terrible tick from my driver's side. I think I'll be going the DT route... What should I know before I tear into it other than soaking the manifold studs in penetrating oil for a week or so?

I keep hearing the driver's side is a bear, but is this exaggeration for it just being a long job, or is it actually pretty tough?

96 model year would be 80 series.

Hesperus you posted this in the 100 section.

haha, I am an 80 guy and saw this.....he's probably talking about the Y-pipe with the welded converter/second converter [ been there/done that twice ] my first replacement the "Y" was cracked/rotted badly at the y welds, then the replacement [ walker ] had a stud break off at the first o2 sensor at only a year old, which was luckily warranted by the selling shop.

I got a DNF on the driver side. It is stoopid hard to do. First time in 35 years I did not complete a job on a vehicle. ;<)

What was the hardest part? Lack of room to move around? Any info you can provide I'll benefit from. I'm hellbent on replacing that manifold, I just want to know what to brace for.

Access to the nuts, could not get a wrench on them.

I would recommend taking your time and removing all parts that restrict access. WHeel, suspension parts. You do have to loosen the motor mount on the driver side, jack up the engine a little, to allow the part to come in and out.

The guy who put them on, did the driver side in 4 hours. He was a former mechanic.
