Just picked up two headlight buzzers from Radio Shack for my dads cruiser and my own! Looking foreword to stopping the dead battery trend. 3 times and counting so far...

Yes - headlight buzzers are nice. I wrapped mine in a piece of tube sock and put tape over the speaker so that it's not so blasted deafening. The tube sock also keeps it from rattling in the fusebox.

That buzzer install is quick and painless and you can be done in about 10 minutes. It was my first MOD. I'm so used to auto headlights with our family car.

Another light mod.

Switch activated super-powered dome light.

ere is my contribution,a former 62 owner shared this with me. Most of our 60 washer bottle cover are crack or just completely gone and here is the fix, bottle cap from your water cooler bottle total cost maybe 2 pennies and fits snug.

That's where mine busted when I tried to snap an aftermarket cap on it, but it cracked all the way down the side rendering it junk.

Not sure if this was done before but at least it was free and easy.
I grabbed these computer mouse pads at a motorcycle show and decided to use them on my center console. You will need two of them.

Just took some measurements and made the cuts with scissors. No more keys and what not sliding around.

They are the perfect size and take up the entire fj60 side mirrors.

I can now actually see cars beside me. All for about $6.

Made a cheap and simple spare fuse and relay carrier. I took a superbright LEDS box put a layer of packing from at the bottom and then just stuck the mini blade and relay prongs into the from. This way the fuses and relay won't bang I together when going off road. I plan on getting more fise at the junk yard so I will have there spares for every thing.

I did this on my passenger side and loved 'em 'til I went wheelin'. We were way up a canyon in the La Platas on a shelf road that we found to be blocked by snow. Had to back down about half a mile with the drop-off on the right. I couldn't see the edge of the road for doodly squat. I have fake Aussie mirrors now. No offense.

I have ordered for other vehicles through them and it has always been right. Their customer service is great too so IF there was a problem you will have no problem. Use their online vehicle spec tool....

And once you get the specs for the stock struts you can go in and look to see if there is a strut with the same dimensions but with a bit more weight rating! But dont go too high or you will struggle to get the hatch closed!
Or look for ones that will lift the hatch a wee bit higher maybe...

Ok, much of the following is in other threads, notably the Awesome Ammo Box thread.

Some time ago I cut the bottom off of a 50 cal ammo can, welded the bottomless can onto the lid of another box, reversed and voila! Center console. Just this last week I finished it up by mounting cushion on it and moving the CB to the side of it (mounted with 3M grey double sided tape). I'm pretty sure the whole thing came in under $50, I already had the cans.

Great pics! Three questions...

(1) how did you work this to fit over the ventilation ducting that runs at the base of the factory console. I believe there's a push
toggle switch in front, and a hot<==>cold temp slider in the rear. Did you just make cut-outs? and then bolt the whole thing down
from the inside bottom?

(2) Any good cup holder solutions?

(3) How'd you make the cushion armrest?

Nice mod... thanks for the inspiration!

I've bought probably 10 sets for various applications over the last 8 years and never had a problem with any of them.
