Skateboard grip tape on parts that get climbed on.
HAHA TOUCHE' I had a bad experience with a grill on an old truck, so I didn't even look at how to take it off, didn't care, just started taping things I'm somewhat of a neanderthal.
Did the same thing about 6 months ago.Skateboard grip tape on parts that get climbed on.

A Quick Grip from the Home Depot.
It's so Fu$&$ng cold up here in the NE. Now I don't have to freeze my hand when I fill up at the pump (most of the times the holder thingy doesn't work).
So I take it you've never been shown that the FJ60 gas cap can fit upright between the fuel dispenser handle and frame, holding it open? I don't do it anymore since the dispensers in NC all have the hold-open fingers, but it used to work very well.
Ha ha. I have tried that. But it kept slipping on me.
Plus I'm an electrical engineer, I have a need to complicate things.
And the look on people's face when I do this is priceless, it's almost like discovering sliced bread.

Another one I can add: Installing red lights in the instrument custer. It looks MUCH better (to me anyhoo) at night, and is much easier on the eyes. Takes a little getting used to after having had the green lights for so long, but I love 'em.
www.topbulb.com carries them, part #194R. I bought ten since they're cheap and it leaves me with spares.
Hey Spook, do these work with the factory rheostat?
Or in other words, are they dimmable![]()
This is one of the simplest and most rewarding "fixes" I've done to my 60. My old struts would not lift my rear hatch, and would only keep it up as high as my forehead (based on field testing). Also, when I slammed it shut 90% of the time it wouldn't latch. For $25 + shipping I got two new struts including new ball joint fittings from CruiserYard. It took me less than 5 minutes to install the pair and now not only does my hatch pop open effortlessly, it opens above my head and latches securely when I shut it.
