Somehow I missed the fact my tires have a E Load rating... I'm now looking at other options in a 35/18... Any ideas?

I'm all for 35's, and yours looks great BTW, but it's just not completely practical for my usage. I don't kid myself and pretend my car is sees 50% off-road use because in reality, I need to it work better than great on the highway where it sees 95% of it's usage. 33's walk that balance better. 35's are a slippery slope of compromises I'm just not willing to take until this truck becomes strictly an off-road play thing.

Does a 305/60-18 fit in the spare tire area in the rear? My 285/65 fits pretty easily.
For those of you who are going larger in size, are you also replacing the spare in the stock location? I would love to stay stock size but am finding no robust options.
I did, and am doing a 5-tire rotation every 5,000 miles.

Many have said that the 275/70r18 will fit stock spare location. I believe I have seen this statement with "OEM Hitch Receiver" as well.
I have not been able to fit the 275/70r18 BFG K02s in my spare location of my 2006 LC. I do have a hitch, but not sure it is considered OEM. I have gotten the impression that most of the hitch receivers are dealer or port add-on.
You can see in the attached pictures that my hitch does protrude slightly past the rear cross member. The hitch is the style with the square box for the exhaust tip.
Am I doing something wrong or will I have to drop the hitch to run with my spare in the stock location?
I am open to other hitch styles if this would alleviate this issue.

I just put on the same tires above^^^. 285-65 KO2. I like them a lot. They look like the size that belongs on the truck. Also, they are notably smoother and quieter than my KOs were.
This is an older thread but I've been searching for an answer in the forums regarding hitches and larger tires in the stock spare location. I have 285/75-16s on stock wheels and recently tried to get a receiver hitch installed that came off another Cruiser. I believe it was a "curt" brand and looked similar to yours. Were you able to fit it? Luckily I'm able to swap the hitch with another style to the dealer I bought my truck from as they always stock several 100's, but wanted make sure it didn't fit?
I have looked all over, and hate being up a old thread, but can anyone confirm that a 275/70r18 will fit in the stock spare location. I see different answers everywhere here, and it seems like it depends on your hitch setup. My 05 Lx has the integrated bumper hitch. Has anyone fit duratracs in this size in the spare location with this hitch setup?

Did you ever get an answer? I'm having trouble with anything fitting in the hitch due to hitting the spare....basket, ball mount ect hits the spare
I have 275/70r18 Cooper ATPs on my '04 LX and I fit the spare in the stock location with the integrated hitch. It takes a little bit of finesse and guidance while cranking the spare up but it does fit. The only catch is I can't get the ball seated properly with it there, so if I want to tow, I need to move the spare. No big for me right now.
Bismark I have a 2006 LC and am thinking about putting on 265/70 r18 BFG KO2s but cannot find any pictures. Do you have a photo you can share as well as any information on ride gas mileage etc. Thank!
