I've put this thing up for sale a few times over the years but I couldn't really part with it when push came to shove. Well she has been sitting for a long time and I'm about to have my second kid. I don't really have the time, energy, or green backs to put into her for a while.

My question to the group is this - I tore her down a bit with big plans, but she s***s now with 3/4 installed fuel injection, all the interior ripped out, and no dash. I'm assuming it would serve me well to put the seats back in it, bolt the old dash back in, and make it run with a Carb before I sell it, but how much of a hit would I take if I left it as is and sold as a project? It has a small block chevy in it already which makes it not smog legal in Kommifornia so someone out of state would have to buy it or someone would have to be willing to put a different motor in it if they wanted to keep it in Cali.

I need a little advice here.

Cheers!

Phil

We are gonna need to see some pics and a rundown of any rust. But my guess is, you're not going to get enough for it to positively impact your financial situation significantly at all. It's probably worth more to you now, than what you can get for it.

If you have the place to store it, and the tools and know how to revive it, then keep it. You and your kids get it back on the road together. And the skills they learn, and the bond you'll build, is worth far more than the money you'll get for it today.

I will get some pictures up here shortly. Here is my original build thread - Meet Ella

There is little to no rust, a smallish dent in the passenger door from a rock, and the s***ty clear coat is peeling since it seems it didn't adhere to the paint.

I'm not really selling for the money, I sold out and bought a jeep to daily drive and take the kids out. It's more that I won't have any time for a long time and I need the space. I feel it is better to let someone else have her and do something with her than she dies slowly in my driveway.

I understand... I think you're right, the best bet is to get it running again. No rust is worth something, but worth even more if a guy can fly in and drive out. In its current state, it's a parts rig. You'll get the most selling it piece by piece. But if you put the interior back together and your able to fire it up. Then you'll likely have something worth even more.

Let's see what the peanut gallery says once you post up the pics. But if you're really looking for advice, I say... sell the jeep!

:grinpimp::beer:

This is the way she sits now. Toy 9.5 front with a Spartan locker/ Dana 44 Rear with lincoln locker 4.10 gears. SBC 350 with th400 and NP208. Obviously still a work in progress. I need to get her back to running which is really just pulling the FI back off it and going back to the Carb.

Wish I could keep the kids in the cruiser, but the jeep drives so much better for every day use and everything works on it. I know I sold out but hey you have to do what you have to do right! (yea that didn't make me feel any better about it)

Anyways if you know anyone interested I'm taking offers.

I found be myself in the same boat some years back and sold and ended up regretting it. I luckily got the opportunity to buy mine back a year or so later and was quite relieved.

Babies will make you want to dump things, but I'll tell you now that my kids are elementary age my life is completely different. And when they're in high school I know it'll change even more (time-wise, etc).

Basically kids change and we do to along the way with them. It might be worth it more to let it sit....

I don't really know to be honest I haven't been following the market on these. Any suggestions without low balling me?
$10 and you pay for the Uhaul trailer to get it back to my place!! LOL:flipoff2::steer:
Market is all over the place right now, if you got it back together and working you could easily get $5k for it. SOA may be a deterrent to some.
Without it running it is someone else's project that they have to then finish up. Definitely get her buttoned back up, sell the EFI stuff with it and go from there.

Most of my childhood memories are from the back of a Jeep CJ-3A in the woods. I think I can get the same fun and enjoyment with my family in a TJ with the top off. I'm not hurting for money so when the time comes that I can build something with my upcoming son then we will probably look at getting back into Cruisers. I really just hate to see it sitting in my driveway not getting any love and I could use the space for a lot of other things right now.

I was this close to saying yes to that........

Agreed that I should get it running again then try to sell her. Won't take long really.
