So thank you to those that have kept tabs on my slow build.
When I first bought her:

after paint and when she first arrived at my house yesterday:

After proper tires and wheels were installed:

My daughter named her Ella. Still have lots of work to do, but the paint and body work are glass smooth and amazing! Plenty still to come so I guess this is the start of my first official build thread. Hope you guys enjoy!

Phil

Thanks! Still a lot to do but a solid platform.

you're going to cry when I tell you about the paint:
Paint cost: $231 this included a gallon of paint, gallon of clear, reducer, and activator

Body guy: $400 this included a crazy amount of sanding, rust fixing, color sanding, and a lot more.

Painter: $350

So all told about 1k with little expenses. Pictures do it no justice. This is baby bottom smooth and sweet.

That's a great deal on the paint job. Was expecting you to say something like 3k. Good job getting her back to new.

Phil, you are a great guy and I'm sure this truck with follow suit. I can't wait to hear about and see your progress with Ella. Maybe her and Grayskull can get dirty together.

Thanks Derek! Hey since mine is bigger does that mean she gets to be on top? Lol

Going to rebuild the front axle on Tue and need to squeeze some more HP out of that small block. Also need to relocate the B&M shifter as it is hitting me right in the knee when I drive.

Interior is ok, but I don't really like the poo brown look so that's on the list to change.

The addiction is growing stronger I need my next parts fix!

Been doing a little work on Ella. Took the front apart to put in a new third member with a 4.10 ratio. Also rebuilding the knuckles and putting new seals in. so much water in the axle! Looked like chocolate milk. Ring gear still turns but is rusted from sitting in the water.

Check out the travel on those bad boys! Haha next on the list of things to fix. Not sure what the PO was thinking with the suspension on this thing.

What difference the new tires and wheels made! Looks like a perfect combination aesthetically IMO. Let's get some details on them shoes, if ya don't mind! Was that you that had the thread not too long about the paint? I remember the black roof...

Thanks Danny! Yea the black roof was a last minute adjustment since we didn't have enough paint. I decided to paint the top and the front A pillar black, but painted the rain gutters white. I think it came out really well. The tires are Cooper STT 35x12r15 on black 15x8 steelies. I Def like the way she sits. Not to tall and everything seems proportional.

Now that I got the gear ratio squared away its time to head to Hollister!

So finally getting some work done on Ella. I got 63" Chevy springs mounted last weekend as well as some new shocks. Rides like a new truck!

going to be replacing the fan tonight with a ford Taurus fan (sbc).

Taking my girl out for her inaugural run this weekend out to Niagara rim. See what we can break!

Glad she is turning out well for you, even though you did steal her from our area :D ...
Will definitely have to post up some pics from the run, while you are doing that I will be grabbing BeBe!(hopefully no breaking stuff for me)

Taurus fans are crazy bad a**! I was having an over heating problem with the stock clutch fan and was working on a better shroud to help when I can across the Taurus fan. Found one for $60 in fantastic condition and redneck installed it last minute for our run this weekend.

This thing is two staged with low pulling around 3000cfm and high pulling 3500cfm. Literally wants to suck you through the radiator now. Over heating is no longer a problem!

Finally got Ella out on the trail. Took my club out to *undisclosed secret trail* in northern cali. Man we had such a good time! The weather was perfect and the campgrounds were pretty much empty. We had most of the trail to ourselves.

Heading out
