I was talking to Four Wheel Parts about some InterCo Super Swamper M16 37/13.5R15 and they recommended beads for balancing. I've never heard of that system. Anyone have an experience with it. Apparently, the beads simply move to the required spot every time the wheel spins up to speed.

I’ve used the air gun pellets before. My 37s on trailready beadlocks seem fine up to 55 (about as fast as I drive it).

Bead balancing is used mostly on big truck tires with 19.5 and 22 rims, it can be used also for LT size tires.
I still prefer weights but if they have issues balancing such a heavy tires beads are the easy way to do it.

Golf balls have been in common use in big rigs for decades, the beads in our tires are an off shoot from there. Most report good luck with them.

When I had them in my tires and a small percentage of time they seemed to get stuck in the wrong part of the tire for some reason and cause a terrible vibration. I had to come to do a stop start again to resettle them. That only happened one out of like 50 times, but I ditched em and went to beadlocks and stick on weights. The beadlocks prevent the tire from slipping on the rim and almost never lose balance.

I ran the "dense" airsoft BB's (if i recall 8 oz. per tire) in 39.5 Iroks on H1 wheels with internal beadlocks and they were fine at highway speeds. There was a transition speed (maybe in the 30 mph range?) that you could feel them kick in and smooth things out. I'd run them again if I ever have something with tires like that again.

I use beads in my DD Tacoma couldn't keep weights on with all the gravel I drive and aluminium wheels no trouble ever just have to tell them when they go to fix a flat so they don't spill them also have them in my forty but haven't got to drive it yet it has no body LOL

When I had the 33x10x15 MT tires mounted on the 15 x 10 wheels, the shop recommended the beads and guaranteed that if they didn't work as claimed I could bring the tires back and they would remove the beads, refund the initial cost then re-balance with weights at no charge. The tires have been smooth since. Personally I am very satisfied.

Thanks so much for all the input. Sounds like a good thing. Can't believe I've never heard of it.
