Where did you get this deal?

I was searching for a set of Rock Warriors and stumbled on them. I was looking at Facebook marketplace near Oklahoma City.

I've seen this thread pop up a few times and I liked the design. That and I need new tires and was going to go with the Michelin's that come stock on these rims anyway. The guy only had 500 miles on them so it's like I'm buying the tires new and paying 200 for the rims.

I like the design but the offset just looks weak. Could be the type of thing that look better in person?

Offset is my biggest issue with these as well. I’ve seen it in person and wasn’t very excited over stock wheels.

Rock warrior being a half inch further out and the wider bulge from the taller sidewall pushed me in that direction, personally.

Aren't they both +50 offset though?

No they are 60 which is same as ‘08-‘15 and in ‘16+ moves to 56. Rock Warriors are 50. They also bulge a little bit out so will hit rocks more easily. Look great though!

radman your Lexus looks sick as hell. I am so jealous of your adjustable suspension. Wish my 14' LC200 had that set up. I went with 20" reps and I am very pleased however I really wanted an OEM BBS Forged set but couldn't find any for sale locally. I never thought about actually going to a local stealership and getting a quote. Oh well I am stuck with the 20's for now.

I think you mean LT275/70R18/E DT KO2's.

If so, the RCTIP (Recommended Cold Tire Inflation Pressure) for the LT275/70R18/E DT KO2's on your 2015 LX570 is 36psi F/R.

Just to calibrate my eye - what psi were you running in those pics? Never mind - saw 40psi in your post. Don't know how I missed that... Anyway, you were slightly overinflated.

Here’s 36psi...

Is that much bulge normal?

If your tires are the same temperature as the air temperature, and you trust your tire gauge, and they are inflated to the proper RCTIP for your LT275/70R18 tires, then yes, that looks normal.

It is very unreliable to judge tire pressures by sight alone.

Maybe a meaningless comparison, but here are my LT285/70R17 KO2 tires at 40psi which is the correct RCTIP for them:

The bulge looks in line with what you are seeing.

Don't worry - trust the science.

gaijin,
You posted these in a different thread, and I wanted to get your thoughts on if they would work for these BBS wheels?

LUGS

They are 14x1.5, but internet searches say that 12x1.5 and 14x1.5 will fit. is that accurate?

12 x 1.5 will not fit. The Land Cruiser lugs are M14 x 1.5.

The FJ Cruiser lugs are M12 x 1.5 - that may be the source of your confusion. FJ Cruiser lug nuts will not fit on a Land Cruiser.

NOTE: The lugs I linked to will work on the Toyota TRD Rock Warrior wheels, but will probably not work on those BBS wheels. It looks like the BBS wheels require a standard Toyota alloy wheel lug nut with a flat seating surface - something that looks similar to this:

2017589

The TRD Rock Warrior wheels have a conical mating surface and require a lug nut that looks similar to this:

2017590

The Conical seat lug nuts will not work on a flat seat wheel like the BBS wheels.

Which TPMS sensors do I need for these rims? The seller took the ones that come with them out prior to sale to install in his other wheels.

Thanks!

I was going to buy these, but the guy at discount tire price matched them and took care of the programming (cloned my stock ones)

If you want the same level of quality as OE you can buy Denso sensors from amazon or other places, but the model depends on which year your truck is. They did change parts a couple times.

Or just reuse your old ones, which will bolt in. Toyota only changes the mounting angle for steel wheels.

I’ve been all over the mcgard’s website, but can’t seem to find any black lugs that will work. Do you know of any?

Yeah, my old sensors are in steel wheels. I'd need new ones. I'd prefer OE, but I can't find the part number. DOH!

What year cruiser? And it might help to provide the build date.

Looks like it’s 42607-33021

Edit: note that with new sensors there will be new IDs and therefore your vehicle will need to be programmed to be compatible. This can be done by most tire shops or a couple of the common OBDII Bluetooth tools.

The advantage to autel or discount tire sensors is they will be “cloned” to emulate your stock sensors and codes. For me the convenience wasn’t worth the lower quality though.
