150lbs. And I cook low and slow with wood not gas. I hate gassers.

well, as long as i have some warning on everybody comin over, the lakehouse can be of use...

cook it there, eat it there, drink there, swim, play pool, ski, whatever, we can do it all....

Do you use a burn barrel to get your coals? How do you control the temp, we did a 200 lbs one in about 12 hours?

Summertime

I 'd say warm weather too. June is nice and the lake will be great about then.
LOL....maybe I'll have my boat serviced and ready by then. Hey, which lake?
Hartwell, Keowee or Jocassee?
Does it have a dock?
ROFLMAO....consider yourself warned! The Horde is preparing to descend
upon some unsuspecting lake near you. WARNING masses of Cruiserheads
ahead. I think we had about 50 for the last pig pickin'.It was a favorite of
the club.
Henry Cox used to do it once a year for the club. It's been a few years
since then. I'd expect a similar numbers to show especially when you
add the lake to the fun.
I'll be happy to contribute $ for costs etc.
Let's do this!
When is good for Trollhole and 72cruiser? (cook and host)

Burn barrel most of the time for the big cooker. Hey Matt we might have a use for that wood after all.

As far as times I'm booked this month and will be in the outerbanks the first and second week of june. I throw a 4th of July party for my friends every year so that weekend will be out And will be working the second weekend of JUly. Other than that I'm free. LOL I'm up for it. And might even get the boat all cleaned up.

A 200 pound pig is a lot you must have to cook it over 250 to get it done in 12hrs. And as far as controling heat I do that by controling the amount of air that gets to the coals. Plus the waterboxs keeps temps almost perfect.

Funny thing is right now I'm smoking 8 boston butts and a brisket for a company party. I use the small smokers for those though. It's going to be a long night.

the lakehouse is on hartwell, about 5 minutes from campus,
in between issaqueena dam and twelve mile if you know where that is...

if there's goin to be 50ish people, i had better check with my landlord/roommate to make sure he's down with that (should be no problem, but i don't want to piss him off or anything)

there is a dock (remember, it's harwell, so it's small; no pier, just a ramp and a float); and we have a boat as well, but that's my roommate's, not mine, so i can't vouch for use of it...

i'll need to check out dates and stuff, and i'll get back with y'all abt that as soon as i can

2nd choice still available

Hey man, don't worry. If the large crowd is any kind of problem we
could use my place. No neighbors etc.
I could set up my horse shoe pit.
It is pretty private with mountain views.
Plenty of parking on the upper lawn.
LOL....10 minutes from Mountain Estates.

Either way sounds good to me I'm willing to drive down one weekend for that even if the pig isnt running. But I would certainly like to have have the problems fixed by the time I head out for summer.

I'm still up for this. Maybe we can talk about it at the next meeting.
This is a heck of a good idea. Henry Cox did this a few years ago at the annual meeting and almost every year at his home in Clemson. I hear you're good at this too! I will help just tell me what you need.

if we still need a place for it....my house is still an option
